Best shovel I ever had was one the workmen had left behind on the railway lines, don't know where it went too. Maybe if you know someone does that type of work they could hook you up with one.

Who said you where doing it all wrong? Personally my opinion and anyone I know on doctor johns is that it's shit. If your dogs are grand on it then good for you but id say the fact your feeding the beef etc along with it would be the reason why your dogs are in good order. When it comes to meal/nuts and you feed a certain weight to a dog and the dog is passing out the same weight or close to it the other end in my opinion there's very little to none nutritional value in it therefore it's shite.

Thanks for the replies lads. It's mostly full pork loins I have so ill cut it into steaks and feed it along with meal. I'll see how it goes. Trial and error is the best way, I'll try them on small amounts for the first few days to see how things are. It's hard to not listen to someone you know has a lot more knowledge than you.

Getting permission and everything is grand until a New Holland tractor drives down the bottom field towards the bank you are on as fast as it can go. Then he asks you what your doing there? So you explain that you have got permission from the landowner that is in a shed less than 50yards behind you. Response was "that's ok" but these bottom fields are "ours" and we don't want no one down here with dogs or we will ring the Police! So back up to the aul hand in the shed that give us permission and he says plough away its none of his business your on my ground not his. Stuck between a rock and a

Seasons Deffinatly Started!
THE GENERAL replied to Workingdogtomf's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Checked half a dozen nice spots that were stinking with scent today but no one at home. Got a bolt from a concrete pipe, last stop on the way home. As said weather not right but depends on different country and conditions. -

Men shovelling out and throwing the contents of the shovel everywhere and anywhere rather than onto one heap. Takes twice as long to backfill and you end up tramping threw it, boils my piss that does.

It's absolute bollocks and anyone that thinks it's good hasn't a notion.

This topic has probably been done a few times over on here, but I would like a few opinions on the matter. I get a range of beef, chicken and pork from a wholesaler for the mutts. Beef is mostly sirlions, ribeye and rump, all vacuum packed. Chicken comes in fillets in the large black plastic tubs. The pork is pork loin vacuum packed also. I was never too keen on the pork so the other lads take it for their dogs and haven't had any issues to date. At the moment my freezers are coming down with pork, I happened to mention it to a well educated friend that has been into dogs a lot longer than me,

Peips Box Or New Bellman An Flint
THE GENERAL replied to whitefeet4190's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I can't see this so called "BIG" difference or more precision location accuracy lads say they get with the Barryvox pulse. We have all 3 types between us few lads, red box, barryvox and peips and the two peips boxes are used more than any other. It's got to the stage the other boxes are left in the van or at home. -

You went away for the weekend and wherever you where there was no internet connection? Don't tell me you didn't think off THL the entire weekend! That's sacrilege at its finest ?

I can say that I've seen a few what is named "legends" over the years, I could count them on one hand though. It's not a term I would use anyhow, to me its really cheesy if I'm honest. Like a football fan talking about some cracker goalscorer from the 90's after a few two many pints ha. Anyway none of the gooduns were fighters. They wouldn't have had any interest in fighting. If kennelled up 24/7 with other terriers "which they were not" who's to say they wouldn't have been fighters or even ended up a great dog killed in a kennel fight? Now a proper fighter is a different kettle off fish, seen

let's be honest here mate. It's not as if they have been smoking 60 fags a day and on the drink for weeks so they're in a bad state of non fitness! Lol. Any man worth his salt will have his dogs in good order all year around maybe a bit heavier in the summer but that extra bit of exercise and correct feeding they should be ready to rock. It's not really rocket science, people are making a mountain out of nothing.

All the 5 min wonders that are in clay town are saying, we got a bum deal we should have been on chains with weights. Then we would have made the grade? Doesnt matter how fit some are or not, if they ain't up for the job at hand fitness is irrelevant.

Work is the only conditioner, whatever works for others I can't knock it but seriously I wouldn't contemplate that way. It's a lazy way out no matter what angle you look at it.

Best terrier bitch I ever had the pleasure to dig over, was runt off the litter and pick of the litter at that.
