Certificates don't lie jiggy. If Glens or Kerry's where nearly as good at one stage, why is there so much documentation on Wheatens and so little on Glens or Kerry blues? Even some EBT crosses were more popular and talked about more over the years for being proven game dogs. Fat man I think I know the club in Ni you spoke about. In 1978 there was 54 strong dogs entered in a trial, only 16 were Wheatens the rest was made up of Staff Bulls.

Rule 9. No dog to be run more than twice at a trial, 3 minutes to be the time for the second run if the dog has already done his time or most of it. Rule 10. Dogs to be re-run for best of day only, except in exceptional circumstances.

I agree Chesney but lucky enough there is still men that keep the line alive, which should be done so that they don't be lost to the KC crap you see today. Terriers done the work back in the day also but as Neil said the majority of terriers that provided the game for the trials never got a certificate as they wouldn't work as required in a shore, mainly because they were too hard and had to be lifted. Quite ironic Imo. Fox dogs won more certificates something I never agreed with. The terriers should have been judged properly in a bank on a dig but there's no point in crying over spilt milk be

I don't think anyone's dictating, more giving there opinion on what has been the overall better breds of trial dogs, compared to the others over the years. Any certs i have that date back to the early 60s onwards are all of wheaten terriers. Any others I've ever seen are wheatens or staffs. None of the old timers that I did or would know, that where there and bought the t-shirt so to speak, haven't much to say about Kerry's or Glens. That's not to say there was no gooduns. Is it just a coincidence that staffs and wheatens seemed to be better suited for the job, or did I just not know the right

Just to add I've never wormed this particular dog with milbemax before, the rest are fine with it. As I say I've always sworn by it, this dog won't be getting it again.

I've just had a terrier experience a bad turn, one hour after worming with Milbemax. The dog got the proper dosage and up until today I've had nothing only good things to say about this brand of wormer. Dog was at back of garden with another terrier, when I called them he wouldn't come, stood looking at me in a half crouched position stiff looking and I knew something wasn't right. I called him again and he came up the garden still stiff but nearly sideways with legs still half crouched and moving away from my direction head first into a line of 3 bins along a fence and down he went. First thi

I'd one get into the pen a few years back i had a Lakeland in, it was a time we were having a good spell of weather so I reckon it was looking a drink of water. Woke up with the dogs going mad Lakeland squealing, so ran out and the Lakeland had it and the blood was all over the pen. Bloody big one it was too. Sat it down in the garden and got the dog cleaned up had to pull some needles off him. Next morning the hog was away, seen it about half a mile up the road a week later squashed.

If that was aimed at me, well you're entitled to your own opinion just like everyone else. I never mentioned where he lived, what he drives etc. Also I never done research on anyone. Small world the doggie world as many of you well know and people do talk, so if your constantly making an example out of yourself on the Internet or elsewhere under an alias or not and on this occasion trolling people looking a reaction, guess what, your going to get one. Yes that's right If your big enough to give it you should be big enough to take what comes back at you. It's as simple as that. It's just a pity

They don't do the pieps no more as far as I know, you can only order the red one of bellman or buy the pieps elsewhere.

Celebrity Opinion On Irish Coursing.
THE GENERAL replied to Bryan's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
As said reporters both North and south know well to be careful what they are publishing when it comes to sensitive areas like gangland fueds and paramilitaries. It's well known they can easily become targets. Veronica Guerin and Martin o Hagan lost there lives due to there jobs. It's probably easier for them to spur crap on field sport matters instead, something they'd know equally as little about. -
Who rattled your cage Pablo ?

Lamping In The Leeds/west Yorkshire Area
THE GENERAL replied to Ozz.mitchell's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I see where your coming from and it makes a lot of sense, the thing is where I come from if you lamp a young dog early on as you've said it will encourage them to not hunt on. So the thing is when you bring it out in the daytime and a rabbit or fox hits the hedge then the dog will stop and not wreck and push on threw after it which isn't much use to a man watching the quarry run unhindered up the next field while your dog is standing staring into the bushes, each to there own. -
when was this,,You for real Pablo? You must be thick as a plank, I don't doubt it for one second.don't doubt whatThat your thick as chomp you twat ?

Lamping In The Leeds/west Yorkshire Area
THE GENERAL replied to Ozz.mitchell's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I wouldn't be lamping a young dog, most lads I know wouldn't have a Lurcher on the lamp until they know there daytime job, each to there own but where I'm from lamping at a young age is a bad idea teaches them bad habits. -
Ireland Westmeath Working Dog Show
THE GENERAL replied to paddy31's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
I don't usually attend dog shows think the last I was at was Waterford around the millennium but I've heard some real good reports about this show so me and a few of the lads are planning on taking the trip down all being well.
