My mates family own a farm about a mile away from a rural village and there's a good trout river runs threw the bottom fields. We grew up down at that river camped out and fished all summer long. They were the good times. Each time we camped out at around 12.30am in the still of night time you could hear whistling coming from the village. It was an old guy lived down the far side of the lane and he went to pub each evening stayed until last orders then walked the road home whistling old Irish songs on his way. He probably never knew all them years we could hear him from down the fields. We wer

Could well be chara, none of that would have happened only for my egit mate taking the old sash. I did go back to the place one other time with a few lads that wanted to visit it and it was just as scary the second time around though it was agreed nothing to be taken or touched. The building has since been demolished and a new property built on the land.

Me and a few mates were out lamping years ago when we were only 17/18 I remember well because my mate had just got his license and we thought we were great having wheels rather than having to walk for miles to the good spots. Anyway, lamped a ferral cat that ran down an old lane the dogs missed it because it got threw the bars in the old gates that were locked together. We climb over the gates into an old farmyard with a house that all the windows and doors had been built up with breeze blocks. In the corner of the building part of the building had gave way and there sat the cat. We let the do

IVe never had an incorrect reading before but I did find the readings would jump up sometimes say the difference in 1 meter but after a second went back to the original one. It never bothered me and I put it down the the batteries maybe getting low. Then when it occurred when I knew the batteries were new it had me well puzzled. It happened one day out with a friend and he said was my mobile on? It was so I turned it off and it hasn't happened since, he said only certain phones can interfere with it. I doubt that's your problem though pal. Atb.

Genuine Chocolate Patterdale
THE GENERAL replied to woottonsheart's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I've a choc dog in the yard and I don't look at him any differently than the rest. Colour means absolutely nothing and i don't think the terriers are much bothered about colour either. The sire of a young black dog I have is chocolate also. Both dogs are well bred and not a penny was handed over for them as pups. A few bags of meal and a pouch of tobacco to show appreciation, as I know they would have refused money point blank. The way it should be. -
No fd I'll given up on it lol
-
That's a load of rubbish. Why do you think a terrier is most under pressure at the end of a dig ? Anyone with a bit of skill would know the reason. Neil you give this man a hard time all the time If I see a post that I think is a load of rubbish I'll say so, that's my privilegeIf he post's a lot of shite that's his But, that statement that Stop End made is something that I've heard many lads say and it always pisses me off, not just because Stop End said it. A lot of lads do not realise the pressure that's on a terrier coming near the end of a dig and when they break through they see

You can fairly feel the love on here at times lol

The answer is an obvious Yes. Put it like this, if you showed a guy that hadn't a notion about digging how to use a B&F setup. Dropped a terrier along a bank and brought him down the field, the chances are he'd be capable of locating the dog and know where to dig. He wouldn't be far off. Thing is there's a lot more to Terrierwork than that and we all know that very well. Like many I still like to hone in on my skills on a regular basis and locate a terrier naturally rather than using the box straight away, it's puts that extra bit of satisfaction into it knowing you could do without if som

What do they taste like? -
Pieps box and battery collar never gave any bother.

Rang Maplin there and the answer was "No". They don't make boxes on request to specific specifications so unless there is one suitable on their site ( which I can't find ) then they cannot help. I did find this though, didn't check the dimensions but would say they have one to fit the old knockerbox, pity only 10+ years too late for most lol. It's about 11 down. http://www.maplin.co.uk/c/components/project-boxes/plastic-boxes

I know two different guys that the collars wouldn't hold the charge or charge and have just been told by another man on here, had the same problem. A fella I do a bit with bought the new collar and box and had nothing but problems with it sent it back, still wasn't right and sold it on for £100. He told me he got pissed off with the whole scenario and the box wouldn't t change from feet to metres I can't remember all the ins and outs. Eitherway he passed it on and continued using his old setup. He's on here if anyone wants to query him, I'm not the one making a big fuss about it. Send me a pm and I'll give you his username if it bothers yous that much.

Also I don't know any men that would be niave enough to buy a new red box and rechargeable collar with charger for £100 before quering why the owner would take so little for it. Maybe you do but I certainly don't. Easy to jump to conclusions at times.

Nice one stumfelter, just had a look on their website and there's one close to me, going to go and speak to them see if they can come up with a clone. I'll keep yous posted on the outcome.

Something like that. I wouldn't chance it, it could vary on the type of battery. First chance I get when it indicates a low battery, I change it.
-
This why I prefer the battery collar, once the red light starts to blink I know it's time for a new battery. No hassle or worry. Change the battery and carryon.

The old collar is not broken just could do with a new casing. I would rather have it than the newer rechargeable one that is renowned to give bother. That's why I'm holding off hoping not to have to buy one. Hence the discussion on collars and spares. For your info I don't like the red brick and I'd personally prefer the peips over the Barryvox.

I have a Barryvox pulse, pieps and red box. Thanks anyway it's the collars we are discussing.
