  1. There's always loads of fancies for sale on the nbmh site over in Ireland after the breeding season. You need a car
  2. Wasn't called Derek your boss was he? Had exactly the same happen to me
  3. I'd be more inclined to go with satinettes, gold dimorphic maybe just not stuff that needs colour feeding.
  4. Cheers mate, I've got the sister of the hen on 5 eggs to the same cock and he's back in with the first now for when she rebuilds, hopefully I get a few more the same colour. I'm planning on going down the colour canary road next year as it's less messing than muling etc.
  5. It's looking like the cock is a satinette carrier and the chick should be a satinette hen.
  6. Next time get up in the loft and bag it up first, use an old saw and cut around the old ceiling so you don't damage the walls. Piece of piss The worst job I've ever had was shoveling out old broiler cabins, 15 quid a shed. The ones where there had been a leak were especially rancid. Tomato picking is a close second.
  7. There's different strengths of it for different sized creatures isn't there but can you dilute the stronger ones for a smaller bird? I can get hold of some livestock strength stuff, could I dilute it or would it still be the wrong stuff? Either that or can anyone sort out some pigeon strength spot on cheaper than harkamectin?
  8. I can't see why not mate it doesn't harm the wild birds.
  9. Both my grandfathers, I can't remember either of them and I'd love to have memories of them like my siblings have. I'd probably get a good bollocking for all the shit I've put my parents through though ?
  10. Could the birds that eat chicks possibly be lacking in some form of nutrients causing them to do it?
  11. I've borrowed a cock canary off my neighbour and paired it to the dark mongrel hen and they have produced a red eyed chick? The hen is bred off variegated mongrels too so it must be the cock who's produced it so any ideas what colour he is?
  12. I've got 2 goldie mule hens paired to linnet mules built up in my aviary, I'm just leaving them to it in case I need them to foster any canaries for me.
  13. Get it ate, feck giving it the dogs.
  14. First canary chicks of the year hatched today.
  15. My pup now coming up 9 months and about 25 tts. Hopefully the rabbits have a good dry summer for when I'm getting him going in autumn.
  16. Mine would rather not eat than eat gain but will eat red mills and do well on it but I do mix it with other stuff.
  17. There's also the ioa, I think you can order online from the ioa too. Only the british bird council or ioa rings are accepted for native birds.

Perhaps their all trying to suss out why you take 2 pairs of trainers out on a squirrel hunt ?
  19. Sorbus aucuparia will give you berries but if you want a load of different birds just sow loads of wild seeds.
  20. The pastel siskin cock I had for muling was 5 or 6 yr old and was filling eggs all over the place.
