  1. I quit smoking over a year ago now with no patches or owt but my missus carried on until recently, she bought an ecig thing and used it for 2 days and then just stopped. I think something in your head just says "it's come to this has it, feck that" and once you think like that you've cracked it.
  2. They were rollers mate yeah. I'm hoping to breed a few rollers and get a few off my mate this year and I've also got a pair of mag tumblers to have a try with. I've got my breeders in boxes and a little shed, the kit boxes are empty at the moment.
  3. All dogs have the ability to mark you just need to bring it out of them. My old dog marked different quarry in different ways which was a godsend especially when checking earths.
  4. Asda do a decent band too for the lads that want to have a try without ordering some tbg online. The red is good stuff and lasts well.
  5. This is my kit box and some birds I had. I'm starting again with different birds this summer.
  6. Going slightly off subject I understand why ringers trap and ring birds and take their information etc but I can't understand why anyone would need a trap for in an aviary and the fact people advertise aviary traps about on these sites must surely fuel the mistrust that the authorities have against native bird keepers? If I wanted a bird out of my aviary I want it there and then with a net not catch and stress them all as you can guarantee it'd be the last one you caught the one you needed.
  7. Just pack em in if you want to quit, smoking ecigs etc is just putting it off. Everyone I know who's properly quit did it cold turkey.
  8. Mate of mine had a litter of 9 a couple of weeks ago and he said their eyes were just opening.
  9. 2 dogs, 2 kids, 5 ferrets and an assortment of pigeons and cage birds.
  10. If you havent got access to them... you can cut some iron bar up into small lengths.... They look handy ... Very similar to the beanshots... I think it's the edge at the ends that does the bizz. I made a lead mould before I bought one and that made similar to the bean shots but messing around melting lead and snipping it up bores me senseless. I use a right mixture and hex nuts and marbles have proved effective too.
  11. Similar chid yeah, the outer is thinner on our ones and you can snip them open with pliers but the rollers inside look the same.
  12. I'll take some tomorrow mate, I'm not sure of the technical name for them but their the bearings out of our machines at work that are encased in one unit and when you dismantle them it's like a cylinder shape bearing.
  13. I know you were on about it mate but I didn't think you'd actually let her buy a toy poodle
  14. Has anyone ever used roller bearings? I've had a bit of a play with them and their fecking lethal, make a right mess of pheasants heads and go straight through an aerosol can and a wax jacket ammo catcher with Asda flats.
  15. There safe till next season now mate
  16. I know it's illegal to use a torch while shooting roosting birds but why would you bother when you can see them clear as anything with a nice cloudy backdrop and the slightest bit of light scares off everything that isn't young or ill? I've seen a couple of vids on YouTube with lads doing summer time birds using a lamp but when it's winter and the mature birds with good survival instincts are about they'd have no chance. In the woods round here everything buggers off if your phone lights up. Seriously lads try a nice cloudy night when the sky looks white preferably with a good wind so their
  17. Buy a bag of marbles and shoot at something with a safe backdrop, preferably something to catch your marbles and just try all ways until you find a comfortable hold and stance then practice till you get better.

    Isn't Guinness high in iron?
  19. Is it the prize choice stuff? I don't use meat like that I get mince in 2lb bags from the track and feed it raw with some complete and they also get bones and leftovers etc. Cooking it kind of defeats the object imo but at the end of the day their your dogs and if they look well on it and you can afford it then crack on.
  20. I don't bother with it, cards and pressies are for when your trying to get their knickers off and after 12 years or so I'd rather have the silent treatment to be honest.
