  1. Well done. It might be cool in Leeds fella, but it’s bloody red ‘ot down ‘ere in Trumpton?
  2. I’ve been thinking about that. I was setting up at 110 yards, shooting around an inch, no flyers, with bipod, off the bonnet. Not too bad. Looking at the remaining rounds/ box of 50, they look ok? In fact, I was thinking of picking some more up before this happened. Not so sure what to do now. They’re a good bit cheaper than the Hornady’s though. £31/50. I don’t know whether to shoot the rest of the box and see what happens, or take them back.
  3. 35 grain , I was surprised to say the least. Had a few slit cases in hmr, but not for a while, but didn’t expect it with the hornet. Only fired 12 from the box, 3 split. No sign of splitting on the unfired remaining rounds.
  4. Got these hmr type splits in Remington.22 hornet cases. Once fired factory rounds. They seemed to fire ok and split on firing.
  5. Good sport to be had though. Squirrels can be tricky quarry.??
  6. I smear copper grease on the threads and open them up periodically just to stop them seizing. I don’t clean them though, I think they work better dirty. Just like my missus.?
  7. More like 100 yard shotgun challenge ?. Thats is not saying I could do any better with a 12ft lb springer. i have tried it before, even with a .25 springer at 100 yards, and it was shit alright ?
  8. They do get quieter as you use them. I’ve got a fourten and a twenty hushpower.
  9. Yes, according to my pal, we’ve had over 100 magpies in the larsens this year. I hadn’t been counting...
  10. It’s a cracking result, you’ve reduced the number of vermin by an amount that’s going to make a real difference. Well done fella???
  11. I like the new sporter stock, that’s what put me off for so long before, not the gun, but the stock. Then, when I saw a ks with the new stock, I could resist no longer.?
  12. They are a well designed shooting machine, as 12ft lb airguns go, difficult to beat really. I resisted one for years, but I’ve got to say, they are very good indeed ? very good......there’s no getting away from that, whether you like them or not.
  13. Good result anyway Ian. Well done on a quick dispatch ?
  14. Nice one, it will be interesting to see some pictures of it ??
  15. I like the .20, had a Sheridan blue streak years ago, still got a Sheridan gas pistol .20 and my theoben in .20. I’ve shot loads of vermin with my .20 theoben over the years.
  16. Decided to take the hushpower out and have a couple of short sessions. Been to visit some broadleaf woods that I haven’t been to since last autumn. I was limited for time but there were a lot of squirrels in the top canopy of the beech trees. They were difficult to spot though, and the red dot helped to get a bead on them. I saw a good few running along the high branches and disappearing amongst the leaves. I managed to shoot three in the short time I was there. Couldn’t find one of them in the undergrowth though. I’ll be back again soon for another bash at them. Plenty of pigeons about as wel
