  1. Not true. Some dogs would run a mile a the sight of there master taking a slap and as Bosun said they may help the aggressor.
  2. We're not talking heavy pressure work, we're talking Lurchers. Saying that I know of a man that has a 90lb 1/2 x Bull/Greyhound and that likes the sleeve and I'm sure that would take some stopping A dog that bites a sleeve isn't a pp dog, a pp dog is one that can take heavy pressure. Otherwise its just a sport dog. abselutly i,ve seen very good sch dogs put under real pressure and they have run for the hills thems sports dogs not manstoppers And I've seen men that would run a mile if a Russell were to come at them . I Think we're hamming this up a bit. It is going

  5. you've seen collies trained as protection dogs? or just the nervy, nasty, snappy types? I wouldn't want that trait in any dog, not a chance!! some of the collies I've seen are proper unpredictable, they're sort of half cowering and you never know when the fookin things are going to snap. No, not seen Collies trained a PPD, just one's that were not afraid to bite. If you look on Youtube there are Boxers, Labs and all sorts of trained biters. There is a fellow that I've used for training bite work, that has Springer trained to the sleeve and it's a proper maniac.
  6. I've got a Bull x bitch that will bite but only through play. She doesn't have much in the way of natural guarding instinct and barks very little. I've seen a lot of Bull terriers that are protection trained and known of a fair few Collies that were complete b+sterds for biting and I wondered if these traits would or have carried over to a Lurcher. I can remember a Collie x that was a nightmare for biting and I'm sure in this day and age it would of been PTS.
  7. And he has never done anything like that before. If you want to test your dog, contact a local trainer. There are plenty out there willing to give a dog a bite for a few £££££, they usually charge about £20+ an hour for a bit of training. Does your dog rag things?
  8. Has any one got a Lurcher that will bite on command? What cross is it, is this behaviour natural or did it take much encouragement/training?
  9. Where about's are you mate and do you drive? PM if you like.
  10. Sound like it's neutered. Sounds like your bothered.

  13. Has it actually caught anything?
  14. Better nose, coat, bite, skin, feet maybe and generally, as said "don't break as easily."
  15. 7-14 days hanging,.5-2 degrees. Why are you crowning them? What are you feeding them and have you got them on grass?
  16. Tree bloke "that's worth about £600 that is." Main man "really as much as that" Tree bloke "Yeah, tell you what, give me a £100 and I'll leave there"
  17. That's a female. Caught loads, on hand line, dead bait, live bait, lures and flies. Proper good fighting fish, very acrobatic and good eating.
