  1. Not much really mate my bitch is 3/8 so on paper 3/16
  2. 21 months born in summer so missed last season really except a few rabbits
  3. God I don't now probably 27" not measured him Ray. Yea his brother is going well I think they are all doing well bar one that's dead
  4. Here's a pic of the pup I bred and kept back, haven't posted one of him since he was a pup ...bit of a nightmare feeding when young but settled down a bit now ,and done OK in his first season.
  5. My reason for asking wasn't so much for a dog to push through tight cover like brambles etc or hedgerows ,more finding and hunting up in woodland and more open farmland ,but with a little more control than say a pure hound ,but also be slightly too big to go to ground ,as I've had smaller terrier cross spaniels that have gone to ground on hot scent and if they are a fair way in front it can get sticky.
  6. Feckinell tomo never noticed that, May as well right on his door key hid under the mat lol
  7. Although I like a beagle or foxhound I also had the pleasure (?) Of being out until 10pm looking for them. But thanks Morton, just wondered of anyone hunted with bigger cross breeds or hound crosses and to understand the type of dogs they became. Not in any rush to buy anytime soon
  8. Genuinely taken before the ban ....great set of picsimage.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg superb ,almost could be there.
  9. That was the idea lol 7 seats plenty room in the back all seats lie down to camp in if need be does 60mpg on a good run if you take your time ,thinking of a taxi sign in the top see if that helps with not getting pulled.
  10. Sorry to hear that owain , a nice bitch too. Lloydy has a similar run if bad luck. Surely it's got to change soon. Good luck pal
  11. Not long back,a mate and I got pulled by 4 Cars within an hour ,searched , And told we were being searched as we said we were poaching,we corrected him and said rabbiting on permission ,the officer said ,well it's the same thing lol. We decided to call it a night . I then got pulled on the way home. In general the hunting act hasn't affected me but you have got to say it's hotter than ever.
  12. I think using a lurcher thats not built or bred for certain quarry can be a test I.e a bull x on hares etc . Or seeing a skinny whippet cross putting their all into a fox. And it's always great to see an underdog do well when not expected. But as bosun said horses for courses ,
  13. I got my lad a lamp for Christmas ,I gonna see if he wants a thermal image camera for next year
  14. I took my youngest out a few months back and he loved every minute. Great to see kids involved that genuinely love dogs
  15. owain you are as bad as me lol got a newish motor, and throw smelly dogs and dead stuff. In it lol....I like the blue(?) One on her own what's her breeding mate
  16. I saw a picture a long time ago on here of hbg's Remus on the tail of a hare , Excellent photo not seen it for years though
  17. I personally like a bull cross.as near to the first cross as possible. if you get the odd one that's racy and can run a bit All the better. But I'd like to think that I'd take any cross and take it on its merits. But times change, so Failing that a lurcher x lurcher that does all I want Would be my ideal, it could be a poodle x I wouldn't mind.
  18. I know pal ...just offering a shoulder pal
  19. It's not everything is it jigsaw ,there was a time I'd have been gutted ,but you'll find she's good at other stuff ,so you use her to her strengths. Those goats are an interesting quarry , It's probably been asked ,but do dogs get used to the difference between domestic and feral stock? A mates old man had a big billy and it near killed his neighbours English bull terrier once, when it got over the fence
  20. I had a patterdale x whippet that got dug to a couple of times ,was a cracking dog to send in and call out lol Size is the problem ,although foxhound will try there best to do to ground lol
  21. Desert dogs in the snow...who'd have thought lol I'd personally take either off your hands Andy ,you've 3 and 1/2 hours to decide as I'm on the m6 lol
  22. No it don't mate trust me ...been there,if they are small enough ,they will go eventually ,even if it's only now and then
