    That's what I've always thought, you also have to factor in the 30,000 years they've spent living off human scraps. The ones that could process the carbs we left for them better would of been fitter and stronger and so passed their genes on, I reckon the domesticated dog is more than capable of processing carbs. People forget how far removed from wolves our dogs are.

    My granda used to feed his matchdogs on brown toast dripping and whatever scraps were left on any carcasses he had been butchering. Seemed to work for him but how much better would his dogs of been on a decent diet? Times change and our understanding of diet and nutrition have improved vastly, you'd be mad not to take advantage of it.

    Similar happened to my bullmastiff x and thanks to the original vet missing the worst of the damage (stick had ripped open his whole esophagus and sent splinters into his lungs) he died 2 days later. Was the best dog I ever owned doubt I'll ever bond like that with a dog again. Never forgiven myself for that and will never throw a stick for a dog again.

    Playing with a flirtpole is great for developing a young pups instincts but it can be pretty hard on their growing joints and muscles, I certainly wouldn't work them on it until they were knackered even if that was after only 10 mins.

    Doesn't really seem to of had that effect on Collies, Labradors, Pointers, Foxhounds, Spaniels, German Shepherds etc etc. All popular show breeds while also having a strong following among working dog folk. There's room for both in the dog world IMO i think it pretty much destroyed the german shepard in the uk,thats why we import them now from eastern europe. i certainly think there will be detrimental effect on all those breeds,its just theyre essential or very important in their role so people have strived to keep quality working lines alive. i think completing working tria
