  1. Mostly bullmastiff based bandogs but I've kept rotts and shepherds too Haven't had a big dog for a good few years though not since my last bandog died.
  2. When I kept guard dogs loose in my yard they were always trained never to take any food unless it was in their bowl and I had given them the release command, they wouldn't even touch bones around the yard unless I handed them to them. I think folk overestimate how easy it is to poison a real decent guard dog, food is the last thing they're thinking about when there's strangers around the fence... what about throwing a bitch in heat over the fence will that distract a dog.? Aye I reckon it would I'd be very fecking impressed if someone managed to train a dog to ignore a bitch

    Bullfighting

The copy of death in the afternoon is a bit rough...it was a book I bought 20 years ago and is the ideal first book. El Ingles is still about, he's involved with the Manchester club. Nothing wrong with a well worn book shows it's been enjoyed will be cracking into that once I've finished El Ingles book. Glad to hear he's still involved in the sport.

    Bullfighting

Finally got my hands on the little parcel DIDO sent me, once I had dusted all the strange white powder off it was all good. I've got a terrible cough now though, sure it's unrelated No, joking aside DIDO is a real gent, after I expressed an interest in bullfighting in this thread he offered to send me over a couple of books and magazines. Considering we've had our fair share of disagreements on here I thought it was really kind gesture, he's obviously very passionate about bullfighting and happy to share that passion. I cracked open "The Last British Bullfighter" this morning and I've

The reason i brought drivers into it is because i remember a few years ago driving along at a reasonable speed and almost having a head on collision with a young family trying to avoid a cat running across the road....i think its an automatic reaction to try to avoid any animal running across the road but it made me realise how close i came to wiping out an entire young family in order to avoid a pet cat that was somebody elses responsibility.I did hear before about not being allowed to swerve for animals in the road and it was the law gnasher.maybe it's the law or not im not 100% sure though.
  10. I don't think it's been tested in court yet but in theory even with the changes to the DDA you should be fine if they were on your property unlawfully. Of course never say your dog is a guard dog, it's just a pet that lives in the yard I'd think really carefully before getting a dog to guard dogs, if your dogs get out of the kennel will they try and fight the guard or vice versa? I used to keep bandogs to guard my bulldogs until one of my bulldogs got loose and decided he wanted to take on two 110lb bandogs came home to one very dead dog and two banged up bandogs. I personally won't use dogs
  11. And no loss of testosterone only downside is they'll still be a massive headache around bitches in heat, Jesus I can't stand the constant whining.

  13. Who the leader of the opposition is still matters in a parliamentary democracy even if they're not going to be in power for years. Agree that he should have campaigned for Brexit TBH, campaigning on a "Remain & Reform" platform was him trying to compromise with the PLP and look how they've repaid him for that. Ye he should have stuck to his priciples on the E.U.Heard on the grapevine he gave a speech at the Duram miners gala. Aye he did, was a cracking speech too

  15. Personally I don't even bother clicking on threads that don't interest me let alone reply to them
  16. So after weeks of the most pathetic coup attempt in history the Blairites in the PLP have finally put forward a challenger to Corbyn, the woman who came 4th in the Deputy Leader election in 2015 Seriously the best they can do? A woman who doesn't even have the support of her own constituency https://www.theguardian.com/membership/2016/jul/02/angela-eagle-anger-rises-in-her-wallasey-constituency-corbyn-labour Corbyn will beat her easily in a leadership election and then we'll be back where we started with the Blairites chucking their toys out of the pram because they don't like the

  19. Used to have a neighbour that kept lovebirds ringnecks and other parakeets in aviaries in his yard all year round, he said as long as they were sheltered from the worst of the wind and rain it was no bother
  20. Never heard of a dog getting the snip instead of complete castration, can see the benefits though...

Also explain that you'll be more careful about letting them off lead near houses in future, even mention how it really traumatised your daughter and you just feel terrible about the whole thing. Really lay it on thick.
