  1. Very true we used to use pto driven winches and you would often be leaning over the dam things with the guards flapping about because they all ways broke. Wearing wet weather gear and clothes flapping about. One guy copped it one day and lost an arm. Thank fully I was off that day. Healthy and safety finished the guy in charge of that particular gang
  2. Yea wierd you sort of know its what they live for and its a hell of buzz and when they start baying its like they are calling you for backup. You tell that cause when they know your getting close they start getting stuck in more lol or quarry starts moving forward. I think its just the worry of the unknown you just don't know whats going on until you get there. My digging days are long gone sadly. I was sold on it as a kid when on a weekend I would hear all hell kicking off in the woods over the road. I used leg it over for a nose and all ways missed the fun and got greeted by lots of worried
  3. Foxes are beautiful creatures espeacially on a frosty morning and I have whallo eh dispatched a few in my time. Us hunting folks respect what we hunt even more so now I have got older. I actually said sorry to a bloody goose before I wrung its neck the other day. Tried so dam hard to get one for weeks and finally connected. A stunning bird and I felt bad killing it but its all part and parcel. Only thing I do hate is rats lol
  4. Got to take your hat off to terriers jammed up solid going toe to toe in the dark not knowing they can reverse or not. Got to take you hat off to them I used to dig like a man possessed until I broke through all ways worried me to death lol
  5. Best trained dogs I had were when I was a young fella and no internet or any one to guide me. Not one would do a basic sit lol. But every one flew back to hand day or night. 100% with stock and all great with dogs. All exposed to a lot of work and every thing revolved around that and a pleasure to live with. With the internet is easy to over think stuff and then it just goes tits up
  6. Had a jr about 14 inch and broad but it never stopped him. One on the left. Bitch on the right was about 12 and both were fine
  7. Yea look what we have to put up with this guy is Satan ! Pembroke man in court for cigarettes and orange juice lockdown trip I don't know how I sleep at night
  8. Really good and nothing wrong with that at all. Made me chuckle the one in the ditch. Dog didn't give two hoots lol
  9. Wildfowling is great fun even what I do in land with just a small river and a few puddles to play with. All the ponds are bought up by me but still get fun from the little splashes. We have a puddle in some maze hardly 10 yards across and foot and half deep. I feed it twice a week and we shoot it at dusk. Having mallards drop in over the hedge with no warning unless I have the lurcher who hears them coming is brilliant fun. Then a few teal have been using it lately and they are like rockets. Down the river there is few wigeon and when they start whistling. I am tensed up like john wayne and bo
  10. Well I thought was nice video. I did think the dog ran a bit reserved compare to that tit of mine that will strike full force at any chance regardless of the consequences. I reckon mr A is more than used to a big of flack Just to add my dog is an arse and what he gains in hunting skills he loses out in most other areas lol. Bet the dog in vid has much better personality haha
  11. You summed up my next dog because at the moment I have complete opposite I might even get a spaniel lol

I don't know much about it but is the gun steel proofed if so try what you like. Mammoth steel 36g 3s as said above are really good in a 3inch. What chamber do you have ? Standard steel is also fine with Gamebore 12G Super Steel in a 4 or 5. My mate does some great shots on ducks with them. I am using Lyalvale Express Precision Steel 12Ga in a 5 and shooting well at the moment and use the mammoths for geese. My gun is not steel proof but is a 3 inch magnum so I whack any thing through it
  17. They will be confused dogs shall I pile in or point at it ?

  23. I caught a rabbit one night my self as young fella. Was out lamping with couple valley lads. Crossing wet field with long grass and put light on to see and there was a rabbit legging so I set off and got it off track and nailed it. I even retrieved it too. Give it a crunch I was bit hard mouthed ? Was quite funny. Great days on the perms at 9 and off piste after midnight. Would love to go back
  24. They were great when I was 17 and cost me hard saved pocket money but now not so.
