So, Tell Us, What Are Ye All At In The Veg Garden?

Microwave? TC not the strawberry Allan but will the blackberry as per your recipe worked a charm last year and beats messing about checking for a set I wasn't sure the strawberry would work being lower in pectin and didn't want to cock it up That's why you use jam sugar it has added pectin. TC yes thats what I used tonight. Will give it a whirl next time saves a lot of messing about -

water wars lol. I am lucky I have a few big drums laying around on my plot that I can fall back on if the communal ones are empty. Few bits tonight and the first of me Yellow-Podded Mange-Tout Pea -
yes braid is nice especially for ledgering as you say you can feel every thing. Then again that would work both ways lol

Summer calabrese have been bit of disaster I was expecting decent ones after the winter ones being quite tidy but they all have tiny heads I have not done much watering if any so I think I need to pull me finger out. The runners looks quite pale and not happy as well -

Spuds sorted for the week. Not the greatest producers so far but a hit taste wise savoy and purple sprouting in this lot should get things moving next year Plenty of strawberries at the moment. I did plan on jam but I suspect they won't be in fridge long enough -

They do say to obviously have a little dig around the plant but I can can never find sod all when I do that so only really way is to yank a plant out to give a true reading. Also it takes a while to eat your way up the row so that can be taken into account. Also the slug issue maybe. I was amazed so far I have not seen a slug hole which is great so maybe the constant digging over as I now in my 3rd season is paying off -
I think you are going to have a job to decide whats working and not. Is it not good enough if Vin says I have a very good hob and I decide my jill is a good worker and if vin is happy i take my jill too him. Worst case scenario I have lied but at least Vins hob has helped steer the litter in the right direction which is better than me using a poor one down the road. Also the more complicated the less chance of it working out even more so if people have to part with money for any reason

Better to have the dog a bit wary and just keep out there way I think. Mine is a bit too friendly with the ferrets in the yard and his just dieing to play. In the field he ignores them and last year ferreting the leaves rustled and he pounced and at the last second realised it was a ferret and jumped back so looking good. But I still have them out together every day or two in the yard. The other week out the corner of my eye I saw him open his mouth to mouth one which I stopped. It may have been playful intent but he can forget that

Yea seems its all in the planning. I just had a full tractor trailer load of manure delivered. Get that on and hopefully see the benefit next year. Chickens look good your leading the way there wonder if any one else will follow. No one on our plots mentions them but I doubt it would be allowed -

The new venue is a cracker much better than the carmarthen show ground it really looked the part last year as it did in Gelli-aur. Great day out but that food tent is a right pain the girls had to keep dragging me out Ideation should get up there with some of that pork of his and get knocking out the rolls and bacon sarnies with some good bread be a winner. But I bet the pitch fee''s aint cheap

dug the first of the new spuds red duke of york quite poor these were from about 6 plants. A couple of chaps have tried them up there before with a poor harvest so won't be doing them again. I remember tiercel saying they like a ph of around 5 and I am above that but as a comparison on the same patch we have the duke of york which are struggling and the kestrel looking much better. I like kestrel they make nice chips and roast well too spuds out and sprouts in Nice flowers on the peas
