  1. Thats bad news indeed. Coincidentally I was in the vets this evening and reading a poster on the wall about the danger of mold if your dog is the scavenging type. It would never occur to me
  2. wagon wheels when I was about 8 we ran a cafe and I had one daily and I can't stomach them to this day. Also got bacon and egg nearly every day because we had lots of it. I got over that one though ha
  3. The reporting on that is a joke and they should be held accountable basically lieing or some of it at least. That badger that is supposedly making a run for it is about as dead as it can get unless its taking an nap first. Unfortunately you can't excuse the fact its still a badger. Even if the country is over run with them

I have said it on a few of these threads I thought it was cobblers but what I saw one evening was the spit of this only black I pride my self on not being one to big things up. If I catch a 5lb 15 oz bass then its a 5lb 15oz bass not 6lb lol
  5. I all ways thought drive was the the desire to get to grips with any quarry about. Rat rabbit what ever. Not some thing I have ever thought of before. Most my old dogs were keen but they weren't mad keen. The dog I have now seems to have drive to spare as far as the enthusiasm goes and the urge to hunt. He is a 110% committed to catching stuff. If he had a dial I could afford to turn it down a click or two as at the end of the day I just want him to mark and lamp the odd rabbit. Not take out any quarry within a two mile radius
  6. looks bloody good to me is that your own asparagus ?
  7. Going back to the original post I would have thought hunting up a lot is a good thing ? Had a lurcher as a kid that just used it eyes and i don't think it new what its nose was for. Fine for lamping but useless during the day on its own
  8. No dig bed no 1 done now. Didn't need the cardboard as it was clean anyway but no harm. Got a good layer of well rotted compost down so be interesting to see how that fares now The other no dig patch is using the other approach when its plastered in couchgrass and you need to cover it a long time. Plastic or what ever down then after six months uncover a good layer of manure then cover backup and just plant squashes through the fabric until winter then that should be it done. planted out some cauliflowers onions away lettuce and bee
  9. Bit of mod beach near me and its bloody heaving with stuff
  10. I just use one if them hook on rabbit feeders with a band round the out side works well
  11. told yall ! we love you other guys, it get boring arguing whats the best coyote trap every other day we like chanthere was about ge too ! which forum buy the way ? Ithink it was called SNARING AND TRAPPING SIMPLIFIED i put up 3/4 pictures up of rabbits that i had caught and a brief explanation . in the first 24hours there was about 90 likes and about twenty comments , i was asked to put more pictures up which i did and that was that ,i was removed from the forum . bloody hell Micky can't take you any where
  12. Yea they soon take off once the weather is right I wouldn't bother starting them off else where if you don't have room. My cold frame is just wooden frame with a window laid ontop
  13. pea's, broadbeans, and your sets. Spuds if you are doing them. Beetroot ?. Being up north I guess its a lot chillier than down here and like tc says at night its still cold. I like to start as much as I can in the cold frame. I started some onions sets in half toilet roll tubes. They shot off in the cold frame and got some serious roots going on I was surprised on the amount of root. Once planted out a week or so ago they look really happy. But that explains why in the past when I have rammed sets in wet ground that has set like rock they have never done well. Yet last year going in a nice til
  14. plenty of time for sets my old mate down the plot hasn't got his in yet but they will be 4 x times the size of mine regardless lol. Things just take off when the weather is right rather than just sit there. Too late for seeds though I imagine but don't know much about growing from seed but I beleave you need to get them in jan,feb time
  15. Welcome and yes do well to find a deer down there
  16. My local council in surrey charge for recycling rights terry,a couple have two shipping containers in-situ and recycle everything, store it and auction if off,you see cages of old monitors and PC towers, bikes,TV's and the guy told me old dysons etc are good earners, they must make a quid because they have several houses. yes same setup here. I did email the council once to see I could ask for a wheel barrow as there was all ways loads there. They said it was a private company doing the recycling and I could ask but don't be offended if they said no lol as they obviously make there money
  17. They should at least have a day once a month where you could take what you want to the tip free of charge any thing would help. I have two spare wheels in the yard been there for over ten years. I took them to the tip once and they either wouldn't take them or wanted to charge me so they came home and an old battery. I might just black bag them one day let them chew on that They should also let people take away what they want from the recycling centres. Loads of times I have peeped in a skip and thought mmm I could do with that. I have noticed the staff there very quickly pouncing on any thin
  18. Yes they are leeks I find them quite easy and just chuck a handful in a pot and let them get on with it. Then once the spuds are out plant them out. They are pretty easy going. To tie in with that I was watching a video yesterday of sowing multiple seeds in modules and it certainly works well for this fella. I will give it a go
  19. Ah what I would give for a greenhouse! The missus keeps me on a tight leash with this sort of stuff, if it was up to me the whole garden would be used for beds and poly tunnels! aye me too. I was gifted a polycarbonate one and hopefully i get some decent toms this year
  20. very tidy that. I don't understand the principles but I will have a read up
  21. yes constant learning curve I cock some thing up every year I can't move in my greenhouse at the moment cold frame is doing its thing well. Got some nice cauliflower plants waiting. Clubroot resistant too thank god
