  1. On a face book group there is loads of dogs up for sale and the common denominator seems to be they are owned by young lads who are obviously going through a phase as it were and got bored or what ever. Nothing wrong with going through a phase it happens just a shame for the dogs. I bet most are more than serviceable and just need a tidy permanent home to shine I reckon
  2. In this area bass will be about now. Was collecting razor and clams yesterday ready
  3. I think my vet said 10-15 days
  4. I have some tumbling toms to try in baskets. Going to go collect some moss to line them with as they are right pain to keep moist Going to set up a wicking system of sorts for the green house. Surely it can't be any harder than stuffing one end of a jean leg into a bucket of water and the other end into the pot. Been making some space and have an organise in the green house. Went really well haha. Give it another week and hopefully the weather will be ok to start thinking of getting stuff out. if you need any tom plants Allan let me know lol
  5. I just google this for you ------------------------ Why Do Puppies Need More Than One Vaccination? A single vaccination does not give such good long term protection against disease as two injections spaced apart. Some puppies will also have no protective MDAs by about seven weeks of age, when the first vaccination is given whilst others will still have some MDAs. In order to protect those puppies whose maternal antibodies may have partially blocked the action of their first vaccine, it is very important that you remember to take your puppy back for his second jab. -----------
  6. yes I have some bush types and also some beef steaks but I am going to rig a canopy to keep a bit of rain off. Got a right mixture of tomato plants.
  7. Poor do indeed you don't see the french fella using hard dogs and letting them get a pasting just for the sake of it legal or not
  8. Looks like I am in for a good year with the currants. They haven't been happy the last couple of years so I gave them a pruning this winter and it seems to have done the trick time to start maxing out on space it soon goes Love to seen the onions and shallots looking green one of my favorite crops when they work I saw a post on facebook some where a person mentioned using gorse buried in with the peas to stop mice and they have never had a problem since. It made sense so I gave it a go and it seems to work. I also buried netting around them so helps as well.
  9. some folks just don't get attached like roybo said they are like live stock. My day would be empty with out mine. Up at stupid oclock to walk the nut then the same in the evening. His hard work at times and I remember as a pup him taking off through a farmers yard after his sheep. I was waiting for the boom of a shotgun and for a second actually wanted it to come but thankfully it never did and all is well a few years later. But chopping and changing dogs is not for me
  10. One bad frost this week and a couple of spuds had poked through that night and got nipped but nothing to worry about. Could really do with a dam good night of rain. Pretty dry at the moment. Ordered a variegated Daubenton perennial kale last night. Bit pricey but should get years out of it and nice see. Once its established hopefully get a few cuttings going then if any one wants one Should look like this once its settled
  11. Nice to see the ferrets getting a good deal.
  12. More time is needed they will settle I would imagine. When I got a new one in once all hell broke lose but now they are great together. I did separate for a few days and swap hutches around every day which helped as the new one was getting a right hiding but all is great now

  17. When I was a young lad I never did any training just what was done during there actually working. They were never socialised as I didn't really know any one at least near me. I used to do a bit in the winter with some lads from the valleys and i could chuck any of mine in the van with there's no problem at all. All stock broken and great recall. The jr responded to hand signals a treat not because I taught him on purpose but when he saw me frantically jesturing over to the left he new that was where the game was and off he went. They all pulled and none would even do a sit. I didn't care bec

  23. I enjoy threads like this lots to learn and i find them very interesting. My dog has turned 3 now and I am still steering him and tweaking him to my liking. But since he has matured life is much easier and he wants to do the right thing. I tried treat training but got fed up of what felt like bribing the dog so dropped that and just started being firm but fair and coupled with him growing up we have moved along nicely. I have also learned to give him free reign when actually hunting so he can do his thing. I have made so many mistakes with him its unbelievable If I had my time again with hi
