  1. I think the white fallow are fairly common, i have a vido of 4 near me. I saw the white red in the south lakes, later found out its known in the area.
  2. Anyone ever seen a white red deer before? Had a white stag crash through cover only 30yards from me. Some sight.
  3. I doesn't sound like you've seen a smart fighting dog. They are very efficient and very fast at getting a critter dead. Much more so over the course of 10 critters than any other type. Most of my dogs are on the neck and the critter out cold by the time I get to them. Rarely do I have to go in and finish it. Those cases happen when the critter happens to be to large for the dog to finish alone, in which case I try to avoid those scenarios as much as is possible. I'm not talking about some sort of bay dog. I'm talking about hard fighting terrier types. I had a Jagdterrier male that it

  5. i agree. Wont go wrong with a whippet cross if your looking for rabbits.
  6. why not discuss your concerns with the owner of the dog instead of coming on the web and slating a whole line based on his dogs one performance. If theyre not your cup of tea, whats the interest?
  7. Thats bad luck. Had a lucky escape with that myself last year. The dog got free of the collar and i dug to the collar wrapped round a root. Hopefully the bad luck will be followed with good luck. Atb
  8. back then id say a type produced from and worked on the engish scottish border was a border terrier not the kc type that you see in the show ring today with its over exagerated features.
  9. Bad luck there. You have to have eyes in the back of your head with the younguns. Atb
  10. whats your reason not to? I know its not gunna be the same dig but itll give the dog plenty of time under the sod.
  11. Id say the best sort would be a lead with a ring on the end, with a carabiner clip on the ring, which would clip on a collar.
  12. Ffs. Im gutted for you mate. 6 year old terrier thats a ball buster, id have thought I was on easy street with a 6 year old terrier graft wise. I know they can throw the towel in at anytime though, but a dog that hasnt let you down. Will you rest him up and try again, That would be my plan but then again maybe not if theyve threw the towel in once I be looking for mistakes all the time my confidence in the dog would be in my head all the time its a sore one mate.Atb. thats all i can do. Before hand i had confidence in him and could relax on a dig, this raises questions that probably wont be a

  14. Been working my black dog for a while now. Coming up to 6 year old not let me down. Dropped him in a stiff place last week. 2 hours of digging and he moves. Half an hour later he is out. Gutted isnt the word.
  15. i found mine not capable of that job. Didnt have the gears to do it properly and would only catch the odd one out of luck.
  16. i must say all pics of your dogs show them in top condition. Cracking type. ?
  17. You ran away with your tail between your legs.haha?. I say leave em to it, youll never stop them. Found better permission because of it too. Did me a favour.? what would you suggest then?
  18. I dont know whats to gain from doing it that young.

  21. In Ireland properly conducted terrier work will be trusted terrier men monitoring farms where they have been doing well over 25 years you know these farmers there land and burrows intimately, if its done correctly and land is re-instated as found and fences and stock & quarry are treated with respect its a social thing they love to see you coming and if you haven't been in a while ask why not and many love to spare and hour or 2 to come with you. On all these farms if possible from next week on work per-mitten we will be working terriers three days a week we may visit each farm 3 times in
