  1. That lot doesnt exist anymore. 2min wonder.
  2. There's an online shooting diary now btw: http://shootingdiary.co.uk/ You're right with the antis, they only see it one way and you'll never please them. But the fact is that shooting in most cases is a by product of pest control or conservation and it only inflames the situation when people in a minority such as Jeemes come along and declare they shoot only for the sake of killing stuff as it only reinforces the bloodthirsty cruel b*****d image and causes he benefits of shooting to get lost behind the bloody thirsty image, and that image does nothing but feed propaganda for a ban.
  3. the question was to Alsone but of course the bird is stone dead.Otherwise it wouldnt of given me sheer pleasure. It is a hypathetical question. The Pheasant has done its job that it was brought into the world for by flying high and fast having been artificially put to flight in the direction of the waiting guns. The sportsman has achieved all he dreams about shooting a high fast bird dead in the air,and he has watched it come down to earth dead. Every part of its life upto that point has been artificially managed. Its probably cost around £25 to kill that bird or there abouts. My question is.

  5. What about shooting for the sheer pleasure of seeing a high bird come down to my shot and who cares if it gets eaten or just left in the grass for Charlie to find? Is that wrong. Should I give up shooting?
  6. KILLING. IS KILLING. dont be so nieve as to think you can hide behind a few words. like shooter/ stalker/ . as far as your average anti is concerned.. everyone that kills animals in whatever way by whatever method FOR WHATEVER REASON. is fair game. get real. But there is a difference between killing for the sake of it and killing for conservation of the natural balance or the table. What do you think about driven shooting and rearing of game birds. How does that fit in?
  7. theres hot dogs, then theres Otter dogs
  8. Im confused. Are you agreeing that animals should only be killed when neccesary and not for sport or are you lying to please the antis. Or have you forgotten where you are yourself. You are already in a bad light as far as the antis are concerned. Are you saying a Fox doesnt deserve a sporting chance?
  9. Watched 2 cubs 40yds apart tonight just mousing or learning to mouse.I had a .17hmr next to me. No temptation though. It was nice to watch them. Hope to see them again a bit later in the year in an earh perhaps or on the stubble in the beam when Ive got one of my lads pulling on the slip and Charlie will have a chance. Ive no right to preach to anyone about shooting Foxes, but I do object to calling it sport. I only consider it sport when the quarry knows its in danger and has a chance to avoid it or defend itself.
  10. spot on mate. Its vulpicide. ive got rifles but i would never assassinate a Fox. Ive seen blokes swelling with pride because theyve just murdered 2 or 3 cubs after sileage has been cut.
  11. im sure you can get metal for £33
  12. They are a good way to sharpen a dog up i agree. Get them on from pups.Gets them breathing aswell. I use a 10ft bamboo.
  13. breeds are best evolved through work requirments imo and not re creating something that already exists but with a personalised badge on it. eg Plummer terrier...see Jack Russell....Alaunt...see Bull cross. Just my opinion mind. I wouldnt want to ruin anyones fun.
  14. Falcon Prairie carbine .177 with a fully shrouded barrel.Weihrauch silencer. Walnut stock with rose wood end caps. One 8 shot magazine. very good condition. Lightly used. Warwickshire. £325
  15. That should be plenty for a dog to bed down in mate. They like it not too big so they are supported when curled up.
  16. Dogs that have cramps etc when lamping are usually not fit and dehydrate. I dont think a dog needs a full meal before lamping. If you feed breakfast and a snack that should be fine. Also its not the hours you are out its the runs the dog has and his level of fitness. Rabbit lamping in country where theres a lot of them requires real fitness to get good numbers. A dog needs quality food...you dont see Wolves eating pasta and rice.If the dogs fit and fed right he should go well without being fed before lamping. They enjoy a good feed when they get back and we usually put electrolites on the feed
  17. Yes you have to sing at his bar if you get caught speeding.
  18. Yes but to get in the inner circle you have to go through the initiation process. Some people have been driven to Border line madness. Its not for everybody.
  19. Sod the keyboards, Im out every day searching for pregnant Hares, leverets and cubs for my 5 out of 3 dogs to course. It wont be long before its too cold to go out again.Soon be Christmas..
