  1. I wouldn't cull her. Not my idea of a good outcome. Not saying it's wrong but not my scene. I got the pup with her intended as a ferreting dog. She's part of the family and if she never ferrets then she will be on the couch, if she never walked again shed either be pts or her arse sat on some wheels. Probably the latter. I'm just a nice guy. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. It's a kick in the teeth when this happens but that's life. Onwards and upwards
  2. how are your ferrets coping tonight with the fireworks? i worried about the baby- all fine, worried about the dogs-fast asleep but didnt even think about the ferrets. missus went outside (im working) and the ferrets are going mad in their hutch running about. the wee jill is shaking uncontrollably. was thinking about covering the hutch but it wont stop the sound. thinking about bringing them into the conservatory for the rest of tonight. anybody else's ferrets throw a mad one with the fireworks?
  3. Thanks for all the replies. The pups going nowhere. She was bought for ferreting and whether she cut the mustard or not she was staying put. I'll do everything within my power to get her right and go from there. If shes fit enough to run in the long run then I'll have her out and see how she goes. If not then she will soley be a pet and lie life on the couch. Another dog isn't an option for me. My dogs are part of the family and I'll just have to live with the outcome of her leg. She was a pet first/ worker second only she hasn't even had a chance to work. Fingers crossed for her. There is
  4. just back from the vets with my whippet pup. after her breaking her left leg not long ago she has been getting the leg built back up slowly but surely. yesterday she hurt her leg, the right on this time and took her straight to the vets, diagnosis was a sprain but took her back today and my fears was confirmed. she has broken her right leg in exactly the same place as her left. gutted. cant believe this i really cant. my dogs get the best i can give them and im thinking i must be doing something wrong for her to break both her back legs at only 5 1/2 months old. im feeding her on the best
  5. The pups been walking now for 4 weeks after getting the all clear from breaking her left leg. Out today and she was just walking behind me and I heard her screaming so ran over and she was holding her right leg up and it was tender. Picked her up and carried her back to the house. Lucky she wasn't bigger or I'd have been in sh@t state! Just back from the vets an they think it's a sprain to see how she is tomorrow. Absolutely gutted. Only just started getting her back out. Hopefully it's not broke and she will be right soon. She must be 1 unlucky dog
  6. How long do you walk your dogs for and what type of walks road/bike/ run off the lead etc. I see people saying that they do 6-7 mile a day but I could never manage that with working. Mine get about 2-3 mile road/bike walk a day unless I'm home late and let off for An hour a couple of times day at weekends or when I'm not working. Being realistic what is your schedule like? I walk them as much as I can but trying to get the balance between working/ walking the dogs and family. Sometimes all I want to do is relax but if the dogs haven't been out all day I feel guilty and make myself get them ou
  7. I have been walking to pup next to the bike on and off since shes been allowed to walk. The muscle is slowly coming back in her leg so it's working. Don't really have any problems, only that when cycling on pavements she's pretty close to the bike and I'm worried Of her going under it. Let her off on a country lane last night and kept whistling her and she stayed with me. Sh.t it when a car came flying down the road (unusual as it's a dead end) and I shone the torch on the dog. I had lights on my bike aswell but they were going so fast they took ages to stop. Won't be letting her off like tha

    Cammo- why?

Just watched a program on tv, environmental officers wearing cammo clothing, cam cream and night vision goggles to look at tips and the like. What's the need. Also noticed on sky sports a fishing program with the anglers covered every inch in cam. Can somebody enlighten me as to why anglers need to not be seen, surely fish don't care haha
  10. Go to a fishing shop and get a pair of neoprene gloves. I've got a pair where the fingers can peel back for fiddly things.
  11. Sorry to hear about your Jill mate. Maybe ask for one of her kits back in exchange for another free one next time you breed?
  12. Slip- I got my hutch made by a joiner. It's made out of 2" batons and it's the Tongue and groove stuff on the back/sides/ floors/ roof. It really is strong as fcuk. I moved house the ther day and it weighed the same as the shed. We dropped it and it didn't even make a Mark. If it was any other it would have disintegrated. Where are you located? Theres a guy near me who has about 9 of these hutches built by the same guy. Failing that try a shed place, they can make things like that. Just google it and your area and I'm sure you will find something. Well worth the money. Some really top set ups
  13. Anubis- any excuse to get some pictures up of your dogs eh haha. Do you do photography or something? All your pictures are cracking and certainly ain't took with a disposable camera haha. All them collars look top rate but i wouldn't put them on the dogs all day. Got a cracking collar of Bulldoug for Sunday best but this £4 collar from he greyhound rescue is going strong and taking some Sh't.
  14. Whin- where did I say I knew ewt? I asked about him, id heard his name time and time again and don't have a clue what he's about. I'm asking what makes him different from a dog dealer when he's Always selling dogs? It's a genuine question. Does he work them all? I'm asking because I don't know. No need to get ur knickers in a twist
  15. Duncan, you must be out of a left testicle
  16. I'm new to this, I've heard a lot about the name and seen rake aboots pup. What's the deal with it? Surely if he's breeding none stop then all the dogs he breeds from can't be top dogs? And why is he different from an average peddlar? Over breeder or money grabber?
  17. Probably about the same amount of acres as your belly? Just kidding!
  18. I'd have slapped my mate if my pup was in that state. It's a picture that looks like it's straight from an RSPCA website. Pups are skinny as f**k and the yard is a state. That's never been cleaned and I wouldn't let my dog stay there. No fcuking way! Mods should take this down before it gets into the wrong hands and I hope to see some more pics in a few weeks time of the pups looking plump and a cleaner yard. Prove your decent and do the right thing?

    Pet Hates

Seem to have touched a nerve. Being English is a great asset of mine along with my extremely good looks but if the only thing I dislike about Scotland is the people in it then I'm on a winner. THE TROUBLE WITH SCOTLAND, IS IT'S FULL OF SCOTS. Look, I've served in a Scottish regiment for 4 years, been afghan twice and served along side some of the best soldiers the army has to offer. My best mates are scottish, I'm getting married in Scotland IN A KILT and I'll continue to live in scotland until I'm 6 feet under. It's a great place, great people and te quality of life is better than sou
