    Of course they work! ... whether they are practical...thats matter of opinion. A catapult...whether it is multiplex...or a natural... Is only as powerful as the bands you put on it... And only as accurate as the shooter. IMO multiplex is a strong material to make a board cut catapult from.... ive taken plenty of game with one... And them ones in the link are nicely made.

The hardwood split...dangerously...http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/315331-the-strength-of-multiplex-over-hardwoods/?p=3556490 that as absolutely no bearing at all on the quality and superiority of a natural hardwood seasoned fork . firstly if used properly a fork would never be struck like that and secondly if looked after properly seasoned hardwood lasts a lifetime .those home made forks to be honest wouldnt last two minutes out side

    If youve got it for the longrun... then thats ofcourse the best outcome... Maybe you should have let it settle a while before taking it out... could have fecked off on you... a complete stranger... But hey... people do things different ways... good luck...

    Next was the multiplex... 2 direct fork hits... and only 2 small dents... The third hit split the wood on the fork... but didnt snap it... I then hammered it a few times... and it split and 'cracked' off.... notice how it didnt snap completely... The difference is... the multiplex wont snap and send the fork tips back at your face at a dangerous speed...whereas the hardwood...will split down the grain...with ease... and cause damage.

    Today i routered out some multipex blanks... and started a router on a hardwood blank... only the hardwood blank split... Ofcourse due to some error on my part with the router... But the way the hardwood split...with ease... Made me want to test it further... Id routered out 8 multiplex blanks with no issues at this stage.. Ill post 2 videos..of the 2 woods..in the same situation... The first is the hardwood (missing a fork...as it split on the router) ... possibly ash or beech? ... Clamped in... and hit with 12mm steel...from about 2/3feet away... as close as i cou

Go and find a fork... stick to the tutorial... and you will have something good enough to hunt with... for free... Theres also a thread on how to make your own bandsets.... Everything you need to get started at minimal cost ...

    If your talking about military boots.... then aye.... the standard issue G10'S would and do leak... your sure to have wet feet with them... as you are with jungle boots... The goretex issue pro boots....arent bad at all... ive wore them... but didnt like them... i know lads that do... I think afghanistan has been a tremendous learning curve for kit let alone boots... We got issued the goretex pro-boots for a winter tour... but we soon reverted back to the desert lowa/altberg... as once your feet got wet going the the shiit and piss streams and wadi's... you just couldnt dry them ou

Last time i tried it i brayed my knuckles and threw the catty in a strop and left it in the woods You need to take a step back and relax your shooting mate. You must be doing something wrong Im not mate... ferrets prefer them raw ....
