Kennel wise, all the ground has been dug out and levelled, just waiting on my brother-in-law to find the time to build the pen and lay the floor. So once completed all of my girls will be living out, that will be an end to it once and for all. Unfortunately the guy doing the work is rammed with paying customers and as he is charging me sod all I will just have to bide my time until he has a spare moment.

No Rob, when I say pup she is a year old. The mess is definitely terrier brand and size, the shite itself is different as the lurcher wont eat barf only dry. Cheers
-
Yes mate, I do! Perhaps she has not had enough of my attention. I have bought in the pup, had a couple of kit litters both of which have diverted my attention from her a bit. We will have to get together soon. Pat

She has had a check at the vets and all is well, she is in excellent health. Now I have to confess to being a complete muppet. I bought in a new running dog pup several weeks ago but because they all settled in together like old friends with no trouble at all I didn't put it all together. I am pretty sure she has been doing it since around that time. What do you guys reckon, would that be the cause? No silly comments please, I have had a lot on the go recently and sometimes you cant see the woods through the trees. Cheers Gents Pat

I have both terriers and lurchers but haven't had any massive mishaps but feel like I could be due, combined with some exciting plans for the new season I want to be ready and prepared just to be on the safe side.

let me know if you find a decent vet as I am looking for a country sports sympathetic vet also. I am based in Kent too. Pat

Hi Mate, usually feed BARF with a little bit of quality dry when I am unable to get any. I usually feed around 8 in the morning and may give them a small meal late afternoon depending on how much exercise we do. It has always been this way so like I say nothing has changed in her routine.

Hi guys, My 16 month old Patt has been house trained since she came to us just over 8 weeks and apart from the odd accident has been fine. The last few weeks though she has let herself down almost nightly both big and small. lol. Her diet has been consistent and I am doing nothing radical with exercise, she is fit and healthy and has had her booster when the vet told me she is in excellent health. I also stand outside with her every night to make sure she empties herself but she seems to be holding more than her size. She is like a Tardis! It seems to be like she is just being lazy or perhaps

No probs then Pat, I took me years to breed my line of small ferrets I was gutted that someone took 3 of my ferrets when I was away, that's a big hole in my blood line. I am just trying to start my own line. I have bred solid worker to another solid worker and will breed a litter every few years with another decent line as and when I need new stock. I am gutted that I lost a massive part of the litter as it would have given me a few more options but I am not sure the Jill could cope with a litter of at least 12(I think there was 15 or 16 in total) Hope you get it all back on track.
-
No of course not mate, as I said the reason mine are small too is that my Jill ate at least another 7 from the litter! I was completely gutted as although its natural behaviour I was completely gutted. One of the members off of here had only one surviving kit from his litter too and he is having a few of mine free of charge to help him re-stock. My apologies if you thought I was having a dig, last thing on my mind. I was more having a laugh as it is smaller than some of the so called micro/greyhound ferrets that seem to cause arguments over their existence. Regards Pat

I have got 5 left from a very large litter that the Jill destroyed, they are all tiny including the hobs. I have a second litter of 8 strangely from a fairly small Jill and they are looking a solid size. I wouldn't want to label the smaller ferrets micros but they are definitely going to be smaller than average as adults I would think, both parents are solid experienced workers of a reasonable stamp . ££££££££ I know! I will call them whippet ferrets.£££££££££ I have for sale one litter of whippet ferrets, extremely rare, the stuff of folklore. Come and buy one while you have the chance. £

Its not something you see every day, really well looked after. Go for it CG. Life if far to short not to go for what you want. Imagine the adventures you could have in that thing, its amazing. If I had the space and the cash I wouldn't think twice. Pat

when I was doing my MMA stuff a year or two ago a couple of gypsy lads came in on a day pass as a guest of one of the owners. These two boys both over 6ft and around a trim 12- 13 stone went at each other with neither taking a backward step and refusing to show any pain to the other although we could spot their grimacing from experience. Within 4-5 minutes these lads had almost killed each other we all just stood there gobsmacked as they were running out of steam very quickly but both still trying to take the others head off. In the end one of the instructors separated them and they shook hand

Didn't expect anything different from you pat splashing out a bit with the raybans !! The kits are eating me out of house and home, mince and rabbit at the moment, can't get out often enough to shoot enough rabbits though, their not to keen on pigeon either Mate, I am having the same problem. The mince is a bit pricey and they are demolishing it, I cant get any bunnies as my big permission has the bloody RSPCA down there looking at the Badger sets and my smaller permission has got a couple of people on the land for a few weeks so I am stuffed. I am seriously thinking of going out and

Hi Bruce. I have put up a cheap gazebo and positioned it to cover the hutches to keep the sun directly off them. I put a blanket over the hutches and soak it with the hose every couple of hours. Then I place a Tupperware tub in the hutch to let them jump in and out of. Lastly I rub a bit of factor 30 in to them and give them some tiny raybans. lol. Sorry mate couldn't resist. Hope you are well. speak soon Pat

Thanks for the comments guys. I will keep them in with their litters for a bit yet. I have never seen a litter as active so early but they all seemed to have settled down a bit now. Just going to keep on piling quality grub into them and me and the kids handling them as much as possible.

Always loved the monkey on the chat show sketch, seen it a million times but always makes me laugh.

Chucked in a couple of chicks I keep as back up food mostly for the mums but the babies were on it and ripped them to shreds in a matter of minutes. Went back 10 minutes later and there is nothing left at all, not even a beak or a foot! I might have to go and find them some carrion as I cant get on my permission for the bunnies this week. I think I might have to separate the older kits from the mother end of next week as she seems to have lost control and the nest is being destroyed as quick as she makes it and I am not sure she is producing any decent quantities of milk but the kits wont leav

Like the other guys said, technically its poaching but I doubt anybody else has permission either. I would have a go at the quietest time carrying the lightest set up I could get away with.......literally. Enjoy it mate, good luck. Pat

I thought I would put up couple of pictures of my two litters. They were bred to give me some good stock over the next few years as I have a couple of very heavily laden permissions and a couple of demanding land owners. This litter was originally at least 12 in total but the Jill got in trouble after 8 or 9 and I had to deliver 2 for her. She then became exhausted but still carried on having more! I kept a close eye on her but she destroyed the litter except these 5 although as you can see the kit in the right of the picture lost part of his tail. They are 3 1/2 weeks and really tiny kits, l

Its is tough out there for sure but what option is there except dig in and get on with it. Yes I miss not having a few spare quid in my pocket and being able to splash out on something I fancy on a whim but the wife and I are in good health along with my 3 kids who seem to be thriving and don't know any different to how it was 4-5 years ago. We have a roof over our heads, the bills are paid and we are all well fed. The most important thing for me is making sure the kids quality of life is still enjoyable as any childhood should be and although it was a really hard decision they are going to h

Nice love sleeves Thanks J.Dog, lots of hours and a lot of money. Here is another showing a bit more of the upper arm
-
I had full sleeves done a few years ago, some bits have personal meaning and all that shite, other bits I just liked and wanted them inked on. I have a big Triumph back piece also as I love my bikes especially the Triumphs both old and new. As long as you are happy with them it doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks.

I think 6 months is about right for a kit to get going, although you can probably gauge it best by knowing your ferrets individually and getting a feel for their levels of maturity etc. When I take out new kits I like to run them through a warren the first couple of times once a more experienced ferret has already had a go through themselves and probably cleared it out just to give them the chance to get accustomed to crawling around in the burrows. I have found that then they are fine and will naturally do their job. I have also put them straight down in the past when I haven't had a more ex

Ahem, less of the lad please. lol. I am getting on a bit, but you are welcome. cheers
