  2. Think the tatoo is ace and can see a good likeness. I would happily let the fella ink me and I am very fussy about where I have any work done, keep at it pal. You are obviously very talented. Pat
  3. No problem Gaz, send PM and I will keep you updated on her progress.
  4. Dam was a David Platts gog and was 27tts, Sire was pure whippet and was 21tts I think. I dont have a clue where she will finish but I hope somewhere around 24-25". I spent ages looking for the right mix and felt this was the ideal lurcher for me, we will have to see how it goes but I cant wait to get her on the lamp. ATB Pat
  5. This is my Jess taken about a month ago, she is Ghound/Dhound X Whip and has a smooth coat although it is very thick. She is 14 weeks and I have started her on a raw diet, her coat has got a real shine to it since the change of diet.
  6. Looks like you have a winner there, all the best with her. Pat
  7. Thanks for the advice, I will continue to follow this kind of diet as the dogs also seem happier on it ATB
  8. CrazyMackem, that is a lovely looking hound, bullX of some kind? looks like its seen a bit of 1st class action! ATB
  9. Hello Guys I have noticed a lot of you gout there are feeding your dogs a bones and raw meat diet and I would like to know more as it seems the best dogs eat this way. Do I just give my dogs a skinned carcass or do I leave the skin on? I have a surpluss of rabbits most weeks, are they suitable and how do I prepare them? Do I feed them the organs as well? Let me know your thoughts on the subject as its got to be better for the dogs and higher in nutritional as well as saving me a few quid on the processed stuff. Thanks for the help guys as most have you have forgotten more than I will ever l
  10. Beautiful Dog, cant wait to see what he grows in to, please keep photos coming. I just bought my first lurcher Deerhound/Grey X whippet to try and bring the size down a little. Spent hours looking and researching like yourself and decided this cross was best for my needs. Had dogs forever, quite a few spaniels but found that my lurcher girl needs a real gentle hand and a lot of reassurance, i have found it a sharp learning curve. Still, couldnt be happier with mine and the way its going, just wish I had discovered lurchers earlier, just got to hold off entering her to early as I am so excited
  11. I thought I would add another photo of my bitch. I am so happy with her that I am thinking about getting another possibly a little older, thinking maybe a grey/bull X or a collie X so that I can use her this year and bring on the younger one for next season as I dont want to rush her and could do with a dog that has possibly had a little experience to help show her the way. What do you think? any constructive comments appreciated.
  12. Thanks for the positive comments. A couple of things I would like to clarify, are dogs that are travel sick always travel sick or can they grow out of it? and the other thing, when I walk her she walks tight to my left hand side mostly constantly checking to make sure I am still there, is this something that will change as she gains confidence and experience? Thanks again, I have already picked up so much from the forum.
  13. oh, this is her doing what she does best............pulling up the plants and digging up the garden. Still, saves me getting out there and doing it!
  14. This is jessie 11 weeks tomorrow. Thanks for the tip, I have heard patience is needed with this breeding as they take a while to mature physically and mentally, sounds a bit like me!
  15. Hello Everyone After several books and hours of research I have taken the plunge and bought myself my first lurcher. She is 11 weeks old and is a Greyhound/Deerhound(David Platts lines) X Whippet. The sire is 21"TTS and Dam 29"tts and I am hoping she comes in somewhere between the two with the good thick coat of the dam. I want to use her as an all rounder although she will probably do a fair bit of lamping as this is where I am most experienced from my shooting days. I live down in Kent and am always up for any decent advice and help as I want to make her the best she can be. I am not worrie
