Come on guys, I don't get it. Whether he has a special strain of ferret or not the guy is clearly looking for a bit of advice and not looking for an argument. At the end of the day we all come on here as part of our leisure time and to help with any problems we might encounter as well as a bit of socializing. We are under attack from other sources outside our sport, we don't need to start having a pop at each other at every given opportunity. At the end of the day we all love our dogs, birds, ferrets, guns or whatever so why not support each other rather than trying to inflate our own ego's o

do you if volume one can be ordered along with two Not sure mate but Melbourne books have some copies of the first edition still and they sometimes come up on fleabay. Pat

Hi Baw, if you go to the craft and DIY section there is a sub heading for Catapults. As for who is most passionate, I would say it is pretty close between terriermen and lurchermen.

I always let the evidence speak for itself. When I have plenty of game or trimmings etc my dogs (and ferrets) get it and you can see the difference within a day or two of coming off complete. Their coats and eyes are brighter, their teeth are cleaner, their behaviour improves no end and their bodily functions are spot on. As soon as I go back to a complete there is a noticeable decline all around. There is no debate, it is a fact end of story. Sorry to be blunt but you cant argue with nature. Its like saying kids do better on processed food than they do on a natural diet of fresh meat, fruit

Thanks for the offer James but I have a ton already. Pat

Hi Guys, I am selling my copy of A Mouchers Tale by Phil Lloyd. It is a 1st edition and signed. It is in good condition and the only reason I am selling it is I have read it a few times as it has been my go to book and probably wont end up reading it again. Of all the books I have read it really is one of the very best but then I guess most of you guys already know that. I am asking for £30 posted by recorded delivery or £25 if picked up from me in Medway, Kent. If interested send me a PM Thanks Pat

Bird, could you message me with the same recommendation as Rob as I am on the lookout shortly and in a similar situation apart from I want the dog to ferret also. Thanks Pat

I have two Jills that should be having their litters in around a week or so. They are both very placid with the bigger Jill who has had a previous litter is just taking it all in her stride. The second Jill who is quite small and dainty will be a first time mum and looks like she cant be carrying more than a few kittens. She is normally of an excellent temperament but has now gone very defensive. I got a nip yesterday while changing her bedding and then this morning she connected with the back of my finger and tried to get a proper grip drawing blood in the process, not that I am all that both

Don't think guys are really bothered to much about the money but its always nice when your hobby can help pay for itself in some way, whether its selling a few spare kits or pups or winning prize money from a sport you are involved in. its also nice to reward and incentivise the kids for getting involved and away from the X box or the Disney Channel.I bred from my two as hopefully that way I know what I am getting, buying in is always a lucky dip I think. Its the same principal as lurcher and terrier breeding, breed the best to the best (you have) and hope for the best. But you are right Malt,

I have a couple of litters due next week from working stock who are getting on a bit. I will be keeping a minimum of four from the litters to keep myself in ferrets for the next few years at least as I have a couple of heavily populated permissions that need heavily thinning, the permission owner prefers ferreting rather than other methods due to livestock and location of a nearby footpath and reserve. Bearing this in mind I bred these litters for that reason and will obviously have surplus. I plan on rearing them to the best standards I can achieve including quality grub which isn't cheap. Wh

Ha ha, yeah my terrier loses her recall when she finds something to roll in. Also, when the Spaniel is taking a shite the terrier will eat it before it hits the deck, fresh from the sphincter. They eat barf mostly so they have nice solid turds which I can understand and handle, but when its wet and sloppy and she is going at it like its a Mister Whippy my stomach struggles to keep hold of my dinner. The worst thing is I forget 10 minutes later and the dirty fecker starts trying to lick me and the kids!

I just sold mine as the kids are a bit to big now, there is a massive second hand demand. I stuck it up on gumtree and had a dozen calls on it within the first couple of hours. They are excellent though, I had the double so used to put both the kids in and take them for a spin. The hills were a bit of a killer but I would just drop it to a low gear and keep a steady pace throughout, helped keep me in shape that's for sure.

Thanks chaps, glad I am not the only one. I would still like to know why the little F*&%£rs do it though. lol. like I said, I am not all that bothered apart from when I have to rinse mashed up intestines off of her coat. Perhaps its just purely that they like the scent?

Hi Guys, my 14 month old patt bitch has a strange habit, definitely one that I have not seen before. Now I now dogs like to roll in shite, preferably foxes but my pup will roll on anything dead! My springer managed to pull down a blackbird that flew to close a while back, she mauled it and gave it a shake leaving it inside out and along comes Jane (the patt) and starts doing the roll thing on it. Today I am out giving them a walk and we find a shrew that has its guts out and the patt once again steps up and starts rolling in it getting the tiny entrails around the head and neck area. When I

Is that one of Strong Stuffs Collar and lead sets over in America? Aaron, you are global. lol. Always wanted a really fit and athletic staff for a bit of ferreting, squirriling and coming out for a late night mooch but never found the right dog, still looking! Would love an APBT and have been tempted a couple of times but don't know if I could put up with always looking over my shoulder for the boys in blue. Pat

thanks for that Pat, are you in the Kent region by any chance? Anyone's always welcome to come round for a chin wag, cuppa and a sarnie, off work long term sick at the mo so the companies welcome. I will PM you my location mate, you never know who is watching lol

Hi Bruce, I have done the same as you pal. I struggled to get any decent kits and a member from this site decided to let his two working Jills (they have a good reputation as solid workers) go as he is concentrating on other things, I jumped at the chance. Then I managed to get a couple of quality kits from a Falconer, typical! While I was there he offered me the services of his quality working hob so again I bit his hand off and put both of mine in kit so I can try and get a decent supply of workers for the future, this way I know exactly where my ferrets originated from, any surplus will be

Pretty sure that is a big Bronze Bream spawning, seen something similar many years ago at one of the johnsons lakes almost beaching itself. Beautiful photos. Pat

Thanks mate, really appreciated. The dogs and ferrets have had an offal supper. The rabbits were pristine, thanks again. Speak soon Pat

I haven't spoken to him for a while, I might give him a nudge to find out how the others are doing.

She is a cracker mate, just hope she lives up to expectations. I told you about the coat, it is really wiry and thick but its neither long or short. I don't know if it will change as she gets older.

This is my 14 month old Patterdale. She missed last season as she was still a bit young and very puppyish. I am hoping she will mature a bit more as before the winter as she is still very playful. She self entered at around a year or so which was a cock-up on my part, took her for a run in fox country and let her off the lead, lost her for around 45 minutes and then after a lot of calling appeared next to me with that unmistakeable smell and thick clayish mud engrained into her fur for that slick back look! The only holes I could find with fresh markings were apparently empty as my trusty Spri
