    well done lads. good read that jai. its good to see milly is running well. if you take finn out a couple of times on the lamp i reckon he will suprise you.

    i take my dogs out as soon as they have had there first jab. the pup i have at the moement is 6 and a half months old now and is catching almost everytime i go out, and i started him at 7 and a half weeks. my old dog went out from 8 weeks old he hes 7 years old next week and still going strong.

    the weather tonight is looking very good for lamping here. if the winds up with a bit of rain or theres either just rain or a good wind it wouldnt hurt to take your dog out for a run as the conditions will help out your dog. imo it shouldnt hurt to take the dog out tonight providing the weathers good.

    theres a dog of old which is a legend round this way and was very well known for miles around. he was around 2 years old when his owner got him and it took him ages to get the dog to chase anything but the dog come right in the end. as i have said he was a legend not just in the owners eyes but the eyes of everyone who ever had the opertunity to watch him work.

    a friend of mine had one i lamped her a fare few of times, she wasnt over blessed with bottle and her tail curled over her back like a pigs tail lol. she was a nice friendly bitch stood at 24tts, i saw one of her brothers he stood at 26tts and looked a smart dog. but looks dont catch quarry.

    i usally feed my dogs in the mornings. when i am working them i will feed in the morning as usall then give them a small feed upto 4 hours before i go out depending on how hard a night i think i will be having. not feeding a dog for 24hours before running them imo is a load of bollox and bloody dangerous for the dog. many a time ive seen dogs run without being fed for 24 hours and they have collapsed everyone with the same problem there blood sugar levels have dropped and some have started to fit which sometimes can cause death. the drop in sugar levels i would say is down to the lack of

    ive only had bags in the 50s. the best night ive had single handed was 44 with the old dog ive got now. all these bags have been taken local i havent had the oppertunity to go to places where there are huge numbers of rabbits, its something i would like to do sometime just to see what my dog is really capable off if given the right oppertunity.

    depending on how bad the break is i would have thought it will heal the age of the pup is in your favour. i had a bitch that broke her front leg and had it pinned she went on to work well for a good few years and still managed some big bags.

    mines allready started but i am still limited to where i can hunt due to the fact theres still alot of harvesting to be done yet.

    We drove that night, but like you when i am on foot i get them when the bag gets too heavy or when a natural break presents itself. The rabbits i catch are dog and ferret food, so if we are driving, then they all get cleaned out when the night ends. Do you gut them as you go when ferreting or save until the end? . its very rare i go ferreting but i also gut them as i go as i dont see the need to carry the extra weight about with the guts.

    well done. do you drive round the fields, its just the rabbits havent been gutted. i always gut mine as i am lamping makes them lighter to carry.

    out lamping one night with a couple of mates at around 3am when a women stoped in a old volvo she was wearing her nighty and dressing gown and started talking about the dogs but the really mad thing was she had the back seats full of shopping and was wearing carrier bags on her hands and had one round her head like a ban danner. strange but true we pissed our selves laughing for days about it.

    i use a 14amp never had it go flat on me yet but having said that i havent really tested it yet. ive been out long enough to catch 36 rabbits and it was still fine then. having said that i only use a 30watt bulb.
