    ive met the lad i gave him benifit of the doubt and took him a lightforce lance lamp which i give him for free and delivered it to him. he seems a genuine enough young bloke who just needs someone to take him out. hes only got a pup which is fine fettle. if he lived closer to me i would have taken him out myself.     i was told today that the same copper had the same thing happen to him 3 years ago with only one dog. and 3 years later he does the same stunt with 2 dogs. f*****g IDIOTS.

    theres 2 things to take into consideration. 1 how hard a life has the dog had up until now 2 how hard a life are you going to give him both these things will effect the dogs working life time. although he should have a good bit left in him but how much depends on the 2 above points.

    i dont see how its always possible to put more game in front of the dog by driving round. ive been out with lads who ride round on a quad and the quarry here the quad and they are off for cover before you are even in the field. they know what the sound of the motor means after a while.

    been around running dogs since the day i was born. i was out in the field as soon as i was big enough to keep up. my old man used to have a dog that wouldnt bring the rabbits back my job was to run and fetch every rabbit of the dog. i supose its all part of the apprenticeship. keeping lurchers runs in the family so to speak.

    whats a bit of poaching. theres alot more worse things people could be doing in life than catching the odd rabbits or anything else they choose to hunt. A criminal record is a criminal record ...simple as if your that bothered then dont do it. folk do it, and as far as i am concerned good luck to them. its the lesser of a good many evils.

    nice looking pup. looks as though shes enjoyed herself. as you have said she seems to be wanting to catch everything, shes at the age now where she should start to take her hunting more serously and will start to try hard now imo. good luck with her

    what height did you dog that was going to be a big`en level out at ........ Bryn 25in 4 in sep, Tod 26in 10 1/2 month old, i dont think he will get much taller maybe 1/2 in , he is 75lb now prob 80lb when fully mature, he is like feckin bullock now do you think there will be situations when tods height will give him a slight advantage over bryn. e.g on certain terrains where you work them.

    theres a couple of areas around here where dogs upto 25" have caught pre ban but there success hasnt been that great. yet ive run the same place with 27" dogs and there success rate has been much better. myself i think that after 27"tts you dont gain any more. edited to say after 27"tts i dont think you can gain anymore than just weight

    i was just wondering is there a certain point in height in a lurcher when you dont gain any more benefits. e.g speed/pace turning ability in a running dog?. is there a maximum height when if you go any bigger all you gain is weight and nothing else.
