  2. i use a lightforce lance lamp with a 30watt bulb and a 14amp lithium battery does the job fine for me.
  3. what i call a point and slip dog is a dog that is kept on the lead and slipped as soon as you have found the desired quarry then put straight back on the lead after the run until you find another slip. ive seen alot of people do that with lamping dogs and also daytime dogs. i wouldnt call my lamp dogs point and slip dogs as when i am working them if they miss a rabbit at the hedge i dont wait for tham to come back to me i put them straight onto another rabbit most times, my dogs go into the beam from which ever angle depending on the way they are coming back from there last run as they kno
  4. its possible i supose. ive seen foxes start coursing rabbits for a bit in the lamp. plus the moons up so a young fox would probably find it hard to hunt and be hungry.
  5. imo pure greyhounds are not the best in the field as you are limited to what you can do with them, you are much better off with a x. pre ban the right cross was able to take all quarry regular.
  6. i would go for the saluki/greyhound collie/whippet. imo the collie whippet will add some good traits for daytime.

  12. i would say it will stop your dog chasing its quarry.
  13. ive never heard of anyone stopping a dog from yapping, i dont even think theres a way of stopping them doing it. .
  14. just had a quick look at my pups tally so far hes had 37rabbits, hes 6 and a half months old.
  15. i usally keep tabs on what my pup has caught for a while then i dont bother. i might keep a full record next season just out of interest.

  17. there can be to much wind for deer preban as they dont like to much wind. rabbits dont mind the wind at all.
  18. had a quick walk with the pup tonight after giving him a weeks rest. there was a reasonable amount of breeze and a good bit of cloud cover but it was still very light which made the pup decide he was going to run a few rabbits without the aid of the lamp for the first field, just blow off a bit of steam which isnt really a problem as he will grow out of it. again the pup worked the light well and is getting good at spotting squatters a good distance out. had a good few runs but didnt do as much as i would of liked because it felt a very warm night so i cut the session short. jumped in the
