  1. if you set on keeping and flying birds ov prey you should be prepared to travel as you have to to find ideal place to fly train your bird also buying equipment and food and when you dunn all that you might travel miles and miles for that right bird so travel is a must
  2. hi lads any keepers or farmers land owners in durham or in northeast that could offer me and my ten year old son the chance to fly our male and female harris hunting only crow rabbits and any other vermin you deem as pests would be great land fences and all property will be respected only birds taken on to land no guns dogs or owt else just hawks cheers for at least reading this
  3. any offer ov help these day in any country sports should be given the chance at as its not that often you get asked to join in and falconry is no diffrent id take up the offer mate cos you might not get another good luck

  7. is keel isnt to sharp is keel isnt sharp but i can now feel it he is manned well in and out of the mews and will like ive said fly to me as soon as it see the glove held out with chick but only 6ft he flys to fist and covers his food i walk a round garden and handle and play with his feet wings tail and he dont flintch he dont like dogs or barking and thats the only thing that stops him eating if the dog is near his weight sice ive had him hasnt gone over 1lb ten oz the only thing i can think ov is previous owner is very small guy and fat im very tall and thin and he still not use to me and the sound of me calling him people say that they cant tell the diffrence but my previous female harris was missing two days once and people tried to get her to no avail when i got to her she came to me as soon as i got out of me car without even calling her or offering her food this male seems great till the distance gets over 6ft and he just not even looking at me or food on glove
  8. ive a male 4 yearold harris he is giving me sleepless nights and headaches i bought him late october and he was straight out of aviary fromnd his weight was 1lb 10 oz he was flown lastyear at 1lb 6 and flew well he is well manned up and will jump to fist in mews and on lawn up to 6 feet and no more will ignore my calls to come and no tempting him to come works he is at 1lb 4oz and ive spent hours with him he feeds great on fist and is as keen as owt to come when offered food but as i say 6foot ive been in contact with previous owner and he as even given me the birds hunting and management records for last two seasons i dont know what im doing wrong advice please

  11. to the genuine hunting lads falconers and dog lads half the trouble these days is loads of the younger hunters dont want to help each other out when i first started out 25 plus years ago you could go see the local lads in the area and they were only to happy to help out with advice and time these days if you ask for anything your chance of help is slim the knockers and the people who think your on the make fly out of the wood times of changed and not always for the good i think it also depends on the area you live country folk and old pit village peple are still willing to help you but the city folk dont give a toss unless money on offer if we all tried alittle more in our sport to help each other it wouldnt be in the state it is now ive always tried to help people out with what i could and always like to think id be helped out if need be i guess if i was like grovsey id have ne mates hey grovsey how many hairs on a pigs arse /// next time you look in the mirror please let us all know ha ha
  12. hi mate it goes without saying my bird wants for nowt i am unemployed and have saved up to buy freezer glove bow perch and if my bird needed vets or vital equpment it would be some how paid for i was asking for tools to make my own gear as its good tobe able to make stuff to your birds size and needs as it costs a lot of time and money getting ready made stuff thats all pall as ive said ive saved and got vital gear and my harris is in fine condition im not the type to keep things without the means to feed and care for them people on here quick to judge you but if they new the person the might think twice before calling them or having sly digs not having any digs at all just pointing out a statement ,what im saying is if the bird needs go the vet and the bill is say £500 how can someone find it so easy if there asking for equipment that dont cost that much .if a person can find the money in such a case then they can buy there own gear or get a part time job, people wont give AWAY gear to someone they dont know well i defo wont . here pall you say you not having a dig i dont know you but you sound the sort who thinks they the know all of everythink and everybody when i packed in i gave my vast collection of gear to young lad starting up in this sport you seem the type who wouldnt help any body but him self the lads who know me in this sport and the lurchers know id help any body if i could we not all so jumped up with self importance and think they the bees knees go do one pall this was to ask for help not pricks slagging off bye
