  1. “The review will look at whether current legislation is providing the necessary level of protection for foxes and other wild mammals while allowing for the effective and humane control of these animals where required.” It goes on to say, “The review will not consider the following: – whether predator control is necessary to protect livestock or wildlife – the operation of other wildlife legislation unless it has a direct bearing on the operation on the 2002 act – other types of predator or pest control” Thats what the review is based on, basically its whether the animal suffers by being
  2. If you read there review, I think there will be a total ban on hunting with dogs, it looks like the LASC has wrote it for them.
  3. This is my little shit, first time in 10 months hes sat still long enough to get a pic, just turned 1 and full of himself, honestly don't know what I've done all my life without a terrier
  4. That email came through to me today, this looks like all they are doing which is nowt!
  5. Has anyone got a reply back from BBC, this is mine, what do you lot think? Dear Mr Ballinger Reference CAS-3750775-FCZJX2 Thanks for contacting us regarding BBC One’s ‘The One Show’ broadcast on 14 March. I understand you felt a report on hunting displayed bias, with incorrect references. The overall focus of this report was that the police were looking to stop ‘illegal’ activity. The introduction referred to “criminal gangs” rather than include legal hunting practices. We didn’t state that the equipment recovered such as lamps, knives, medical kits etc was illegal. H
  6. Had the same mate, they are full of shit if you ask me, doubt anything will come of it.
  7. Interesting read Skycat, I remember them trying to force Ritalin on me at school because I wouldn't sit still, but could sit on the canal bank with a fishing rod all day catching nowt or waiting a couple hours for a ferret to surface. I'd like to read more into it if there is more any links.
  8. Fishing & ferrets when i was a kid, always preferred to be out, shooting & lurchers came as a got older. But chasing rabbits probably kept me at it, they really are a top little quarry, it seems people start with them as youngsters & go back to it as they slow down in old age.
  9. I think jeems write up is a very good explanation. That's fine to not understand something, it's another to dismiss it. It is absolutely necessary to have, even a basic understanding of this stuff if a man is to better a line of working animal's. The world's best greyhound, gamefowl , pitbull, sled dog, protection dogs, race horse, and on and on. Would have been bred using the process jeems took the time to explain. didn't mean to dismiss it, sorry jeemes.if i was looking to breed i would just want a dog doing the business at the top of his trade.wouldn't mind what blood was in it.breeders o
  10. Forgot to say: I've just done an article for the CMW on it as well. Will be in next week's issue. Pretty much saying the same thing you said, and a few more inflammatory observations on today's society. The BBC were attacking prince William this morning for saying that Hunting has a place in the conservation of African wildlife. The truth is he is 100% correct, like it or not it generates the income to pay for there protection and if done correctly will have a positive effect on a species future, animals die daily in the wild, most well before there time and in some horrible ways, these left
  11. Can you just stop paying your fee? I thought you can get people coming round checking?
  12. Sent a complaint in through Giros link, didn't even watch it and probably wont but as community we need to jump on these cnuts as soon as they rise. ATB Mick
  13. Read it today at work it was a good read, fair play for giving the young man a chance
  14. I been gettin that idea, don't think its the colour that much, more the filter makes it really dim, either way they'll clock on to it eventually, would be good to know if anyone can confirm about them seeing what colours
  15. Thats what i do.. Sometimes only get one run per feild.. Thats me mate, one run per field, they dont sit now just set off, which has caused a bit of trouble as when im out with my friend and the white beam comes on she sets off whether slipped or not, nearly pulled my arm off a couple of times lol
  16. Was wondering because i was told my pup (my first terrier) would be good to go at around 11 month but hes 11 month now and I'm not keen on giving him the opportunity at this time of year, he will have to wait until later on in the year I think.
  17. Just question what age would you say is young, I expect different from different lines but a round about number 10, 14 or 18 months ?
  18. I stopped using the red filter local over the last couple of weeks, it just sends them running as well, I have just been getting into position where I think they will be and lighting them up on full beam and sending the dog as soon as its on one, the only way I can think as they have obviously picked up on the red as well.
  19. had good and bad days (probs more bad days lol) this season, met a few good lads this season which is a bonus, picked up a young one mooching the other day, probably one last lamping trip to my last spot tonight and the lamp will be off for the spring/summer, seen rabbits where I haven't ever before this season though locally, numbers are never massive though but Im hoping they have a good summer and the lads that dont like cold leave them alone while I'm driving around trying to get new permission. ATB Mick
  20. Just seeing the rabbits movement how it dodges the young dogs jaws is brilliant it must make 3 or 4 dodges until the older dog comes in, all in the space of a couple of seconds that we would never notice without slow mo. Cracking vid mate you should try and get some more its interesting to see it so differently or to see what's actually happening. Atb Mick
  21. I wouldn't blame someone for protecting there ground, but there are ways to go about it depending on the scenario, the op seemed to go about it right by asking then to leave, I'd protect my territory if I wasn't a lone wanderer Not one for calling the police though
  22. Would you think TB and the CA were asked to appear ? I wouldn't.Probably not but I would at least expect some sort of statement from him ....... I wouldn't hold your breath on that one Socks, if it was about beagles then yeh CA would have been all over it.
  23. Might want to stick it on general talk section more will see it ?
  24. Would depend what they can do lol always liked that the look of that pup though since you first posted pics of it Atb Mick
