  8. as promised i went for a mooch last night even though the cloud cover wasnt perfect i took the pup along for the chance of a retrieve theres a public footpath that runs through this bit of permission but not used much after dark so i was a bit surprised to come across a few couples walking their dogs but after a few hellos and alrights i carried on in search of a crow or two it wasnt until i reached the far end of the wood that i spotted 2crows roosting on the end of a branch high up i sat the pup down and gave him the" stay" command and crept a few yds closer i picked one crow out and
  9. i agree wit that if ur dog is not shaking him hard enough a cat can do twice the damage a fox could Not true, foxes can and do eat cats well i have to disagree with you mate i onced owned a very very good fox dog that took no prisoners with old charlie boy but the odd occassion didcrop upwhen a good old feral was flushed from quarries etc and they putup a bloody good show of them selves i do know that foxes kill moggies but i wouldnt under estimate a feral mate
  10. iwould have loved to take a picture of the stoat lads but i couldnt move for fear of scaring it away and theres no way i would have shot this little fellow thanks for replies lads im out tonight for another bash at a few corvids just need a bit more cloud cover and im out
  11. droveto one of my permissions yesterday for a look around and the squirrels where there but high up in the big conifers feeding on the cones as i could hear them but found it very hard to spot them i walked to a spot that the sun was warming up and waited for a squirrel to present me with a bit of sport a few moved around but not so i could get a decent shot so i got bored and walked through the wood towardsthe jeep i happened to glance up as i passed a larch wood and there it was sunning itself in what heat it could find in this winter sun [-8 degrees] it had no idea i was setting myself up
  12. never heard of it but they do possess loads of courage had one that took fox pre ban but that was when out mooching daytime hours i wouldnt put it past some one to have had one though
  13. them dogs look fit mate i dont see many plummers up here in north east well done on some cracking footage im not a terrierman but i do like most working dogs and have done a bit of ratting in my past
  14. a cats owner should make sure they know its fecking whereabouts same as dog owners have to so i say if its out killing birds etc in the country side take it out by any means but on the origional topic i would say a good feral is as tough as a fox imo
  15. when i owned lurchers we never seen the land during daylight hours we did get to know a few spots [whins area] quite well as we did work it a lot but in all honesty we just drove any where stashed the motor and hoped for the best i know its poaching and all that but we never nicked out of farm buildings just bunnies bamby teeth etc
