  7. the cloud cover was ok last night with a few spots of rain so i decided to go for a bit of a mooch with koda and rifle in the hope of a few maggies just to give the pup a bit of the real thing in his mouth as it must get boring retrieving the tennis ball and canvas dummy each day .i arrived at a nice copse that always holds woodies and it didnt take long to find a few roosting together so after giving koda the sit command i dropped a woody sending the rest into flight i retrieved the bird and koda remained rock steady ,we walked on and koda spooked a few magpies wich turned out ok for m

  13. i think with this cross there would be little or no wastage inthe litter i once put a very heavy 1st x collie greyhound over a 1st x collie whippet and they all turned out class workers in the rabbitting field /ferreting /ratting i dont thinkthey were tested on bigger stuff so cant comment -billy
  14. well i went out today with koda in tow and a mate with his shot gun we didnt go out to shoot any thing in particular just a tester for koda really as he hasnt heard one go off yet well im pleased to say he never flinched at the sound in fact he went in search of a shot bird so he thought so another hurdle cleared -well chuffed

    gotcha!

the pup has been barking during the night and keeping me awake [probably half the street lol] and i put it down to moggies climbing the fences etc well yesterday teatime im washing the dishes and looking out the back window and spotted movement near the dogs kennel so i waited abit and next thing i see is a taily boy climbing between the fences so fxck the washing up i grab the rapid load her up and watch to see if it will come back 10 mins went by and bingo its nose is twitching through the picket fence i sneak out the back door and lean against the house wall and hear he comes scurryi

  21. thanks sweeney im very pleased with koda he takes every thing in his stride and ive just inroduced him to water and he loves it so another hurdle cleared with no probs maybe a shot gun fired over him [from a distance] is the next stage -atb billy
  22. drove to my mates yesterday [keeper] took the pup along along with the rapid 7 and it wasnt long before the pup had put a squirrel up a tree it kept out of sight on the other side of the tree i found by sending the dog on with the "back" command he ended up in the squirrels view which then clambered around to my side! thwack! down it comes i command the pup to sit and stay which enables me to make sure squirrel is dead i walked about 20 yds and sent koda "back" to retrieve it which he has mastered perfectly ,i shot another one later on which i thought i had lost but koda found it was wedged
