  1. a keeper i know from whooler [northumberland] uses them big powerful dogs that never stop grafting its just outside berwick if you get stuck pm me when the time gets near and i will give him a bell for you
  2. went for a quick stroll this morning with the rapid and only managed 4 shots but still ended up with my tea! 2 woodies at a fair old distance
  3. update on koda =he has come on leaps and bounds after losing his little buddy [bailey] he will sit stay retrieves well and has just started to hunt .I took him out with the air rifle and he retrieved a magpie so that made my day .im introducing the" back" command to him and its still in its early stages but looking promising
  4. going away from origional post lads but mymate has a beagle xspringer and its amazing to watch never seen a dog with a nose as good as this bitch he is going to put a springer over it next heat to try and breed abit of steadiness in the pups [watch this space!]

  9. went for a stroll on a bit of land[permission]not toofar from home and noticed a lot of corvids in one spot so i sneaked up to see what was attracting them and hoped for a quick kill. any way they spotted me and they were off ,on closer inspection it turned out to be a dead ewe that had got itself stuck in the fence the corvies had stripped a fair size hole in it and i was sure they would be back .i tucked myself in behind a large beech tree and waited and waited and yes you guessed it waited lol.Any way just when i was about to move on a magpie called near by so ithought to myself wait a

  11. scopes are on the right way lol and are tight as they will go so i will take his mod off and give the barrel a good clean see if that does anything but 12 inches is a lot to be out isnt it? ive sighted afair few guns for friends but this has me baffled ,he may have dropped them and not telling me or something will try tomorrow and let you know -thanks for the replies lads-billy
  12. im trying to zero a scope in for a friend and getting nowhere fast-the rifle is a pcp with a full charge and the scope is a hawk .both iin great condition for some reason or other im out by a good 12 inches in the height side of things ive tried clickingup to the maximum but still the same then took it all way down and still nothing .if i aim 12 inches high i can put pellet on pellet any help appreciated thanks

  16. rabbits live in the same fields as sheep and i cant for the life of me think why i wouldnt lamp them or ferret them just walk ya dog through the sheep and at the 1st sign of any interest towards sheep give the dog a good old shake by the scruff and keep doing it till its got no interest unless you ask the rabbits to move into a more suitable field! i bet theres a few lads thinking [what] was he on about [not hunting rabbits in sheep fields]

  18. agree with previous comments pup been started to early its adown side ofthe 1st cross collie/whippet or greyhound.go back to basics gain dogs confidence and let the pup be a pup the longer you can hold back the better things will turn out later and remember you have years ahead of you not a few months.i have owned 1crosses and if you get it right you wont be dissapointed they make cracking little rabbit/ratting dogs
  19. a pointer or a lab would be ok for you mate and as far as keeping it indoors it wont make a bit of differenceas long as you make sure it gets plenty exercise/stimulation atb with your choice
