  9. I totally agree with this - I reckon a large number of dogs are passed over if they don't hit the ground running in their first season...don't think I have ever sen a dog ruined by waiting 6 months or giving it time...seen a fair few f****d up by idiots sending a pup in to do an experienced dog's job...
  10. I've got a first x cg at the minute Kittlerox who is as gung ho as I have seen with prey drive to match...2 years old at he end of the month...my arse has collapsed several times this winter...his bottle hasn't - maybe I'm getting too old for this eh?
  11. Used it extensively years ago - much prefer traps...the Russian Roulette slant was uncomfortable...seen it abused too away back in the mists of time...but some things are best left untold...I agree with Paulus best consigned to history...

  13. Injuries come hand in hand with running dogs - tell you what tho - I'd rather have a full on crash-through-anything-and-f**k-the-consequences-brave kind of dog rather than a dog that'll baulk at a patch of brambles...seen some horrific accidents and have lost I dogs in the past but wouldn't change a thing...i love the not for the faint hearted kinds dogs...
  14. Really nice pup - be good to see how it progresses.
  15. Pups have access to high protein complete all day and are fed meat 4 x daily up to 6 months, 3 x daily til 9 months and 2 x daily til they're 12 months then they are fed once daily like the adults. I feed last thing at night 11pm ish (unless we are out and fed on return) I reckon they settle better when they're fed, warm and content...works for me anyway...
  16. Love Rhubarb crumble - gotta be custard in this weather tho!!!

I know how you feel - you never make it up either...lost a lot of days this winter...not a lot of snow here but jesus f**k it's cold...
  18. First x can all go tits up for a moderately skilled trainer pretty quickly - if I was advising a first timer/youngster to for for a collie x I might suggest a 3/4 bred - they can be less of a challenge...just my opinon...and experience... i agree, 3/4 bred better choice for a novice. i dont think a first timer/youngster is moderately skilled at all, i would class them as unskilled. Yeah - fair comment mate - however, I have seen moderately skilled trainers unable to cope with the collie psyche...and then turn to drink/drugs... and bull xs...

  20. I grew up in the 70s - pretty near accepted that power cuts were a way of life and an inherent part of industrial action and I can recall my mum and dad always being prepared for a power cut- just asked the wife if we have candles and she reckons not... Reminds me of a joke a mate of mine told years ago - in a company that didn't see the funny side - I thought it was quite amusing tho??? "We had a blackout in our street last night - some f***ing carry on until the police came and took him away..."
  21. What about having a lesbian daughter - would that change a relationship between father and daughter?
