    They might not be the fastest mammal around but by feck they can turn and if a dog can't turn it ain't catching many foxes pre-ban or next week. Blackgreyhound - tell you what Johnny's bang on old charlie boy might not be as quick as a hare but by f**k he can turn - stop dead and turn on his own shadow in the blink of an eye, again and again and again, jink and jive and jook all over the bit...seen some pretty decent dogs being made mugs of by foxes...

    You've just described what umpteen types can do, I've seen a few 1st x collie/greys that can run thick cover and hunt in woodland etc and feckin lots of dogs will hunt with no lamp. Yep, only yesterday saw a hancock bred bitch going through some tidy cover, and f**k me if I haven't seen, and owned, some purebred whippets that used their noses like a beagle! Not much coat about em, but did that stop em ploughing through some very thick cover/brambles? Did it f**k!     Now you're talking mate...ah reckon any first x husky x grey will pull a sledge full of slab like sides of seal meat and 4 eskimos over 1000m quicker than any saluki/collie/deerhound x ever will...think you could be on to something there...and they can survive in the wilds of East Lothian...thanks to their twitchy muscles and non wimpyness....

    What the f**k this got to do with East Lothian is way beyond me...happy to put my head on the block here and say that a mediocre to good saluki x will be quicker any day of the week week in week out that a first x malxgsd or gsdxgrey especially if it looks like the slab sided bitch you posted pics of last week...White Fang eat your f***ing heart out ha ha ha...     You shouldnt need to be googling anything to do with why one dog is faster. Get out graft your wonderdogs and let them speak for themselves. If they are half as special as you lads are making out they will get talked about. All the bestSeriously mate - I won't be needing to google nothing...just having an opinion...and mines certainly ain't wonderdogs and will never ever be spoken about in those terms but they do fill the freezer with a variety of game and we've eaten well this winter and will continue (thanks to the inventor of the deep freeze) to do so until next winter...     And that might be the problem - what a dog/breed or cross was known for certainly doesn't mean it'll be suitable nowadays...numerous breeds of dogs were "known" for working ability in decades gone but a lot of the inherent working qualities have been purposely discarded to suit other needs...and sadly fashions...??? And as far as tenacity is concerned surely that depends on the collie x grey though? No?     Personally I think you haven't read the topic title!!! As the title states Blackgreyhound is telling us "Why GSDXG & MALXG will be faster than a Saluki x!!!! Clue is in the words "why" and "will be faster"...personally I feel that even a mediocre to goodish saluki x will be quicker/faster that any GSD or MAL X Grey...and unless my eyes are playing tricks or I'm hallucinating most of the GSD first Xs I've seen on here in the past few weeks are well described as slab sided...tell u what u could do though Bunnys - give me the lowdown/your take on "decent fast twitch muscles", what this means
