Many years ago, over a cup of tea at a farmers table,he was extolling the virtues of his prize ewe that had just become the mother of 4 lambs, whilst explaining to me and a mucker that he may need to foster 2 of them under other single lamb ewes a carrion crow attacked the youngest lamb and soon had its eyes, the farmer raced up the field and put the lamb out of its misery and herded the ewe closer to the farm, then one of his sows mullered another lamb in front of him,me and said mucker were in hysterics, youthful ignorance perhaps, you needed to be there. Many years later i catered for the needs o

An old pro would rather drop her clouts in a less windy alley,an experienced hunter would pick a mutt that best suited his hunting lifestyle and terrain.Personally id not own a lurcher without Border Collie in the mix and id not own a first or second cross either.what do you own Morton A lakeland terrier because i could,nt trust anybody else to put up with her.I lost my Deerhoundy,Collie,Saluki infused mutt recently and gave all my other terriers away.

When God created man he may have been a tad fickle with his brush, when he created animals he saved his best work for the fox, possibly the handsomest of his creations.I respect every aspect of what they offer to the hunt and the mutts that are best suited to their demise, yet id rather see a live- un.

That was summer hunting as well, seasons played little part in feeding a family in the early 60,s.Our hunting forays often started with egg collecting from Mallard, lapwing, pheasant, partridge and the odd farm yard goose, now thats another story.

Did,nt take long for somebody to prove my point, well done mucker.

The effects of the ban are more far reaching than banning certain hunting activity,it gives the feckwits and nuggets more license to practice their ill informed bigotry on an ignorant populace. As an hunting community we isolate ourselves from fellow hunters and will never unite to defend ourselves against the ignorant feckwits, the same ignorant feckwits that are united in dividing us and utilising every scrap of mis-information to serve their purpose. This mis-information is easily fuelled by the ego,s on sites like this that are fuel to their furnace. The best way to circumnavigate the feckwits

England Wensleydale Foxhounds Show. Sunday May 29Th. North Yorks.

They used to have a show before Bell became involved, definitely not at his farm, then it went to the Mart for many a year, then to Bells, older lads will shed better light on the shows history. -
I thought that fox was in the cross hairs of a piss poor scope, then realised it was a fence.

One of my earliest memories of a lurcher was a Whippet/Collie,as a youth it gave me many hours of joy away in the fields,i can still re-collect the shivery nights sleeping in the cover of a wood, as a 5 year old, with the mutt for comfort and a little warmth,at first light being awoken from my shivery slumber by my dad and checking the snares set the dusk before. The dog never caught much and was a liability when yapping away on an hare.Years later an hunting companion owned the best hunting and marking dog ive ever seen in the field, another Whippet/Collie,its nose was second to none, its catch r

A lot of folk will be glad to see it back at the Mart, the amount of sumps and exhausts wrecked getting down that farm track. -
Did the lurcher you lost cover your hunting requirements ?,if it did id source another of the same ilk.If it did not id re-evaluate what you need from a lurcher then decide on the type that would suit best.

As long as we ain't breaking the law I don't see the problem mate. Like you say the net is littered with pics much worse than a dog legally on a fox in Ireland 5 years ago. Lol. If what trunk says is true then we shouldn't be able to show pics of a ferret on a rabbit or a dog retrieving a rabbit. World has gone mad. foxes give bigger head lines than rabbits mate av had aload of pm with the admin on here an if you argue they ban you for a few weeks twice av been banned The majority of folk that own a useful enough lurcher will have an idea what a dead fox looks like, the majority of them wi

Ill still waken confused.

Again Gamefowl are Pheasants, again a variance in incubation practice will still give a variance in hatch rates,no matter the incubator and i dont need the luxury to rush through inconsistent posts to give a consistent response.Ill still stick to my earlier advice and try and get the poster to source info from a Good Poultry site or R.Harvey, they have the expertise in the field,my limited experience comes from working in an environment that promoted the breeding of some of the worlds most endangered Avian species and being in control of the incubation process that went with that,be that Pheasan

Ive seen a few dogs on the dance floor, danced with more than my share and taken the odd mongrel home, never a Staffy though.
-
Id advise him again to source the names i mentioned earlier,he can then confuse himself a tad more than the rest of us are trying to.I gained my incubation experience from a source other than a poultry one,the poultry one set incubation standards that are yet to serve better practice at incubating poultry eggs,R.Harvey took that to another level, with his incubation practice and not his commercial interests as you get that confused.Rearing as nothing to do with hatching. You have gone from 70 to 65 in a few posts, consistency is good incubation practice, inconsistency, especially in humidity, can st

That would not be uncommon for a fox to do.
-
I could quote you countless examples of incubators that are run with a variance of humidity levels and still will achieve hatch rates that are more than acceptable. The lad wanted a basic insight and i attempted to give him a basic answer.Chickens are a pheasant and are incubated as such.
-
Re-read the original post,he stated he had a relative humidity of 60 at the end of his incubation, for poultry that is to high and possibly caused the "dead in shell" as to much humidity is want to do.I posted to use less humidity than 60,at that stage for poultry.Temperature variation in an incubator is far more fatal to the developing embryo than a humidity variation, fact, from my experience.

Not having a pop but i cringe when folk state that they "love their dog",its a dog.I love the Missus and the kids, well most of em and even a few of the grandkids.Id never associate love in the same context as a dog.Ive owned a couple of mutts that i had more regard and time for, than family.
