The majority of the maltese shooters shoot indiscriminately and are responsible for the slaughter of numerous protected bird species,this as been an ongoing problem for decades now and every time new legislature is brought into force,against the Maltese government,the shooters once again ignore it and bang away regardless of the wanton destruction they reap upon the said protected targets.Its a sad reflection on the BBC that its taken them decades to wake up to another of their scoops.Until the Maltese shooters learn to identify their target species they should lose all rights to shoot,if it h

Many a Bull bred lurcher,especially 1/4 bred uns,are more than useful mutts in the field,especially on a bunny or a long gallop.Its the naive nonsense that Bull bred lurchers are the ultimate slayer and struggle on anything that "don,t bite back".Possibly why the type suffers more fools than any other lurcher type.

I also go out with the same pack (my dads pack ) , these dogs aren't your usual couple of squeaks and Come off scent , they'll go all day and never give up , have yet to see anything find like them or put so much pressure on their game in cover and very easy to keep in the kennel , have to say micks a great man to keep up with them in a van I could walk into any dog pound and walk out with a mongrel bred terrier residing their and educate it to become a more than useful mutt bushing and ratching about,as an earth dog it would be a gamble but for £40 id take me chances,id not gamble many,

Did the lurcher you lost cover your hunting requirements ?,if it did id source another of the same ilk.If it did not id re-evaluate what you need from a lurcher then decide on the type that would suit best. He was a good dog no world beater but did all I asked of him although his stubbornness was the biggest problem I had with him , that and him opening up and he wasn't entered to early or unfit he just was a mouthy sod haha Still I had him six years and did the best with what I had , he marked well and hunted what ever I put him on although I would have liked a bit more prey drive sometimes

I totally agree that a gifted mutt as more chance of being passed about and endures a treacherous existence,does that equate that all pups then are sold at obscene rates so as the owner recoups some of their outlay and there is a better chance of obtaining a better and more permanent home for our breeding endeavours,NO.If wishing to recoup expenses incurred in importing,stud fee,s,feeding,veterinary bills etc.etc. ever comes into the production of a line of working terriers then the vast majority of working terrier owners and breeders are doing it all wrong.Thankfully genuine folk charge genui

Post on an open forum and you invite people to post their opinion.As this is a "hunting" forum?,you will find lads that find it shocking to advertise pups at those ridiculous prices and be as shocked that people try to justify said prices.Ill warrant the folk who wish to own such an expensive critter will be more interested in the commercial side of its future than any working one.Many a breeder of a working lurcher or terrier will,at times,go to great expense to breed a decent working mutt without ever considering recovering their outlay,that would also seem obscene to some,especially as bett
