  1. If i owned such an honest mutt id cull it rather than let it loose upon the feckwits that would desire such a jukel,id much rather the dog never suffered the fools that await it and a cull is better for many a decent dog.
  2. Thats the sort of mutt that looks better hidden behind an hedge.
  3. Any busher that cannot interact with a lurcher is as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, any busher that fails to service an attendant lurcher is as useless as the same motorbike without an engine.
  4. Once a cur bites your arse nothing ever bites the same again, fact.
  5. Throw a Beddy over it Roger and dilute the mucky Russel influence .
  6. I do admire that ugly mutt, the dogs not bad looking as well.
  7. When i was a keener lamper id have worn a bikini on many of my forays into the Dales, just to lamp.Second hand ski trousers from Oxfam and anything warm and nearly waterproof off the same rack would serve my purpose.
  8. 18 game unbeaten run brought to an end by the Irish flair and heart, well done,
  9. Id have lived a far less ambitious hunting lifestyle without the support that enabled me to pursue my intentions, the 2nd wife, the 1st ordered me to get rid of the mutts.
  10. I enjoy seeing a dog hunt, regardless if its mine or not.Totally agree its never the same, especially if ive to open the wallet and release the moths.
  11. Grouse, relatively cheap and as honest a Scotch as many a more famous tipple.3 Monkeys,i don,t know the stable it comes from but smooth.
  12. They must have been the proud owners of more than 2 litters.
  13. You,d be happy to pay that amount of brass to witness a little pork pest control ?.Geez i can find better sport over here buckshee.
  14. Generally I agree with you. Show breeding has ruined many breeds and created monsters along the way. If you are going to have breed standards for working breeds then those standards need to reflect an ideal working conformation and be adhered to. A lot of deerhounds now are bigger than they were historically and have a smaller colour range - but you can blame that on the writings of Sir Walter Scott who made grey the fashionable colour for these hounds. Fortunately a significant proportion of deerhound owners have always worked and continue to work their hounds and thanks to Mr Cassells and ot
  15. There is an ancient law that states its legal to kill somebody on a certain day with a bow and arrow,id bring that statute up to date and buy a bag full of rusty arrows to sharpen, there would be no child grooming gangs safe,or sullen pub landlords.
  16. Darcey took a pic of my lurcher at Otley show a couple of years ago and within a month a nugget had her on facebook saying she was the mother to his pups.It irked me for the sole reason that i could not fathom why any numpty would be that shallow.I cannot imagine why anybody would be so sensitive about something so trivial.
  17. Many of my bushers, over many generations, wailed like banshees with lurcher pups in attendance,it never once encouraged the lurchers to give voice.A mute busher is far less capable of encouraging a lurchers interest,or a guns.I find that reluctant sounders are better encouraged when they are over faced in the pursuit of their quarry, the odd hare as an habit of making a mute mutt holler.
  18. Some of the finest terrier folk around ventured out of the Scottish Interlands and earnt their keep as Todhunters in the more civilised English climes, the fact that they may have availed themselves to better bred livestock to wander back with is neither here nor there.Im fairly sure their art is still healthy in jockland, perhaps their reeving is a thing of the past?.
  19. Part and parcel of many a terriers education is to familiarise them, from an early age, with what they may meet in the field,be that other dogs, other people, scents, sounds and surroundings.A tug on the odd warm corpse and a wander around a recently occupied hole.Others just show them an entrance when they believe the mutts ready.
  20. The majority of the folk who most admire the Collie own Collie cross crosses. You take life to serious mucker.
  21. If that dog ran at full pelt you may have a good chance of slowly stepping out of the way.I might have my back to himlets keep your sex life out of this please. So when they say dogging ,they lied to me ??? They lied when they told you to drop your trews and touch your toes.

  24. I can only speak as I find ,max is seven and still takes everything and anything. You have a collie cross that's single handed on everything and anything, sorry I'm not buying it, not calling you a liar just don't believe it has been truly tested... i take it the 93 in your user name refers to your year of birth.your just a boy you aint seen nothing yet.I'm a dad of two pal, not seen nothing yet? I was terrier man for the atherstone hunt for 3 winters mate proberly handled more stuff than you Iv bred lurchers that all pups have grown to have very good reputations doing all quarry, and I have

Not everyone wants to smash 3 a night 4 nights in the week, some just want a dog that whatever pops up the dog can catch, in the same way a 22 rimmy wouldn't be my first choice for foxes but the can and do drop foxes well..... that old adage of horses for courses, there's bull greyhounds that can kill daytime quarry well but would fail miserably
