  1. A beddy influenced terrier would be up there, the majority of terriers make for excellent bushers and they would possibly fill my top 5 spaces.Other people don,t want a dog dropping in and id be influenced by the beagle-spaniel and terrier combos about and that would make a very competitive top 20 bushing companions.Other folk want a lot of land covered in a shorter space of time and the bigger houndy types would fill the next 10 spaces,Spaniels could easily fill any of the said top rankings if they suited the individuals hunting lifestyle and any combination of the aforementioned suit many a
  2. But i wish to look like a big head, otherwise all the kings horses and men will become redundant.
  3. As soon as you go for luck in a saplings development its time to get an hamster and watch it on its wheel.
  4. Being selective in our honesty is counterproductive. As its a Beddy thread its even more important to point out that the Beddy was the best of the 3 terriers in attendance, which is the case much of the time now perhaps, see how selective honesty pans out at times mucker.
  5. Far better options about. I hope one day a bull bites you on the arse so you have a real valid reason to dislike em so much I like Bulls i also know that far better options are available to any bushing enthusiast,id not place a bull or its x in my top 50 bushing companions because thats the level they are at,there are at least 49 better options and i still like Bully,s.
  6. I could kiss you on the cheek and offer you fond embrace whilst encouraging you to go with your dog of choice and id be only interested in something in return,id rather steer you towards a mutt that will certainly serve you with more honest purpose and save you having to kneel down.If you said you wanted a Beddy/Grey x Wheaten/Grey id have been more sympathetic to the choice of mutt that would best suit you, that type of lurcher would be far more useful than either of the types you advocate.Id still source something bred from a proven background that hunts along the same manner you wish a mutt
  7. From his posts it becomes evident that Trunk owns mutts that a vulpine may wish to steer clear of,or pay the consequence.I could still work that out if Trunk was a tad less graphic with his posts and it comes across to me that he wants his ego stroked and thats his main reason for posting. The lad owns the dogs that do the graft and i applaud him for his commitment and endeavour, there should be more like him.Any post on here is easily basterdised to suit the Anti,s purpose and thats what we need to be careful of and sanitise our input, not because we don,t respect the Trunk and his jukels becaus
  8. Proves my point, the Beddy was the only terrier getting stuck in,the Lakey went awol, the Russel was an ornament and its only the Beddy that gets the flack. The lads on the shovel were in their comfort zone with 3 terriers like that.
  9. IF i wished for a lurcher that would meet your requirements the first nonsense id get out of my head is wanting something so selective, especially as your selections are fraught with disappointment.Source a pup from a proven source and forget about selective types and fractions, thats mugs work.in you're opinion I did,nt realise the site was here to not own an opinion,my error.
  10. We all start off young, dumb, naive and full of vinegar.Geez we make a twat of ourselves whilst we traipse the pilgrims path to salvation and recognition. We all needed to learn,at least a dozen times,we all made more than a dozen errors of judgement and we all certainly all made a total twats of ourselves, more than we may wish to answer to.The tinternet as an habit of hanging, drawing and quartering any individual before they serve their time and penance, many of us had the luxury of making our mistakes before such times and flew under the radar because of it.Im so thankful the tinternet was not a

  13. Ive seen that clip before,a lakey that went awol,a russel that was an ornament,a couple of lads that were out of their depth and a Beddy that was dragged over the coals and nothing was ever mentioned of the rest.
  14. The only reason i could have ever put in the hours with the jukels is because of the lass sat at home. She,s a keeper mucker.
  15. worker to worker and you shouldnt go wrong there will always be litter wastage but a few who as kept a line fairly tite get results simple as atb there out there keep dreaming MortonLitter wastage?,thats the reason there is so much dross about because litter wastage, with a few names sprinkled amidst the pedigree is the mainstay of the modern Bedlington.I breed mine tighter than most and bred towards more of a work ethic than the majority of pedigrees ever did.I used to dream of a unified effort to produce a nucleus of bedlingtons that were reminiscent of their working heritage and conformation
  16. I expected all my terriers to behave amidst and around ferrets,i often had both working freely around each other.Ive owned the odd terrier that was not to be trusted,no matter its training
  17. I used to hunt the Dales with a big blue Deerhoundy Tomo, that dog mullered rabbits on piece work, night and day, fecking mongrel refused to retrieve. When i owned that dog i possibly carried ounces of fat and owned a figure that made ugly birds faint,i wish i owned him now as the ugly birds expect a takeaway now.
  18. The location you reside in equates itself to a mutt equipped for pace, stamina and versatility, with a bit of leg.The sapling should serve you well enough in that area, happy hunting.
  19. Until then lets hope Santa gets his Elves to train up a bolting terrier to gift you,all the best folk.
  20. Might not have access to rabbits or even bother to hunt them, why have a ferret that ain't getting graft? The vast majority of lurcher owners hunt the humble bunny,at some time.I firmly believe any lurcher should spend its first season on bunny, after that is another matter, yet the humble coney will learn a sapling lurcher much that will reward it when it may need to step up a level or 3.After a year give the ferret away, until that time any mutt that works with them should be broken to them.As you rightly point out if it don,t hunt scutt it don,t need the effort.
  21. Get a ferret and spend 2 weeks getting the mutt used to the stinker.
  22. It was recently common for many a Lakey and Black Fell litter to throw pups with a blue top knot and many a Blue and tan lakey were evident. In the company of some of our older folk from that vicinity it became evident that the Bedlington was once a terrier utilised in many a lineage because of its work ethic. The Bedlington lost its cudos many decades ago and its unacceptable to many that anything they kennel could be influenced by the powder puffs that masquerade as Beddys now.Id rather admit to Beddy in the mix than some of breeding that haunts much of the Black dogs lineages.
