  1. I always mark the spots, then wait a little longer, but would still dig even if ferret came out as described, its only right, not to leave an injured rabbit down there,
  2. hi all, Ive got permission on some land in essex thats got $hit loads or rabbits on, but most of the warrens are on the opposite sides of all boundary fences, there seems to be a ditch with a fence either side, making the ditch look like no mans land, the guy who's given me permission just waves his hand and say's go onto the opposite side, but of course Id much rather have it from the mouth of whoever owns/manages that land, you can see the other landowners have a rabbit problem as the amount of rabbit fencing on their property, he's just called me and asked me to go over on sunday, but t

  5. alot of users dont like the mk3 collars, saying they come off, it happened to me twice, the first time I used it, but was my fault for not putting them on tight enough, do think that they are alot easy to put on one handed while holding a fert. and once over the fear of strangling ya fert, thick the wideness is brill for not coming off, and units lays better on the next, easier for then to get through nets without tangle
  6. I too use the electric fence poles 27" total length, 6" steel spike on end, so 21" of usable pole, found them excellent to use, easy to push in, smooth so dont catch net, and have groove cut in top, where net can be hooked, got them off e bay
  7. Ive had my mk3 for about 6 weeks now, very confussing to begin with, but keep at it, and it becomes clear, you have 2 modes, and 1 switch, to switch between them, firstly in search mode, this gives you a 16ft area of search, either above or below ground, hold the mk3 in ya palm with the thick end facing you, you scan the area, if your near to the collar you'll get some beeps, and the LED's flash at 16ft, as soon as you get this signal, you can search more, if you get nearer, the "beeps" get quicker and the LED screen will go from 16 to 14 to 12 etc, therefore its quite easy to tell if your

    stop nets

sounds like long nets rather than stop nets, were they inc poles?, Ive seen 25yd nets with 100% bagging for arond the £30 mark, no poles
  11. as frank say's, anything given to the ferts, is always frozen first, think this would kill off anything they are carrying
  12. what scares me, was that you even read past the first few lines, rather that clicking off the rubbish
  13. gotta be orange, that way when not using it to find the ferts, you can play at being captain kirk with a fazer
  14. after reading the post heading "making the most of wind" i thought it was something about eating beans
  15. thats not gonna prove if the eventual keeping of two hobs will be ok, putting your mates hob in, and then a different hob later could be a totally different kettle of fish
  16. 9 alltogether, 5 jills, 4 hobs see other post 1 hob + 1 hob
  17. all my ferts live in a community system, 9 alltogether, 4 hobs,5 jills the hobs consist of buster the dad, now castrated smudger and manky his sons and nipper an ousider I bought in for next years breeding you can see from watching them, they have already sorted out the dominance of who's who etc but I still have a large block of cages, for putting jills or hobs into that i dont intend to breed from i think if your keeping 2 hobs together, then you need to look at the habitat, a small cage and they prob will fight, a large court, and they have room to keep away from each other if

  19. I would'ent mind, but both pat and Inan were so busy scoffing the choccy bars while I was diligentley looking for pats silver hob on the other side of hedge and both missed a cracking shot with the camera of the silver hob getting a ride via bunnie
  20. was a very enjoyable day, with excellent company, nice to meet Inan and hear all the stories bout pat's suspenders as pat said, some cracking bolts, with ferts attached and the only digs were to rabbits, rather than ferrets, easy ground to dig too. fingers crossed we get some invites from that lads, who's foot is that?
