  1. if your gonna get a jill (female) then you'll need to seperate in breeding season, would have been better to get 2 x jills to start with,
  2. yes and no, a ferret will come into season once the daylight times start getting longer, unless she is mated, she will stay in season, years ago ferrets wer'nt looked after as good as they are now, and therefore, being so close to the ground, picked up infections, via the rear end, resulting in death, nowdays as we take more care of our ferts, its not a done deal that they WILL die, but still could if a jill is not mated, but kept in a clean enviroment then theres less chance of infection or she can be taken to a vet and given a jill jab, to get her out of season or pair with a vasectam
  3. SOMEONE WEARING SUSPENDERS
  4. this is one of this years jills "HI-HO"
  5. yeah, pat nearly got me divorced before Im wed, by asking me out again, but I put up a new chicken fence on friday, so the other half told me to sod off out with the pug's as pat says a great day was had, both magwitch and Inan ate all my pot noodles, and still collected a bushel of apples each, Inan as usual had me in stiches, telling me of their past antic's here's a couple more pic's of the day think this one, is for the fashion police
  6. a fellow college at work (pest control) has been flying a bird for work, he starts at 8am till 5pm, then takes the bird out to fly, getting home around 11pm, so Id say, yup to keep one for using is a full time/every day job,

    YOUR OTHER HALF

well my other half is a yorkshire lass, she moved down south and got married, kids, divorced then met me through a biker dating website, wev'e been together 3yrs now, getting hitched next august, adores the 9 ferts i have, she has her own JRT and got me a (fingers crossed) lurcher, we dont know what mix it is, she has no qualms with my lesser love of bikes now, and more into hunting, and Ive even got her daughter of 11yrs into ferreting, so all in all I reckon my life is the dogs danglies
  9. not wanting to look on the negative side, but i always thought allotment meant, somewhere to grow things, not build sheds/stables etc, if they have a form of contract, better check that out,
  10. you say you gutted and skinned straight away??? we normally pee them, gutt them when leaving, and skin at home, saves all the flies, even at this time of year
  11. I use a mk3 locator and box, the mk3 locator will pick up a signal from magwitchs mk1 collars (8ft) but very irratict however, magwitch's mk1 picks up my mk3 collars fine, the knocking heard is at a faster pace than that from a mk1 collar, he can then tell weather its my fert (mk3) or his fert (mk1) that its picking up
  12. quote;Well Ill take your point but can ferrets catch weils disease no, only cows and rats but if your gonna feed rats, your gonna handle them and could then catch any number of things through skin contact, then via mouth, if you say, but ill wear gloves, your then answering your own question; if your unsure and therefore wearing gloves, are you then gonna feed it to your ferts
  13. quote; I didnt imagine it would require an in depth explanation. I thought it was self explanatory. no it was not, thats why more than just myself asked, it came across as a moderator telling us we all needed to do it, rather than just those that may or maynot be doing something wrong... but, its been explained now thanks to the replies
  14. the compartment cant come apart while on the ferret, and even if it did which it wont, you would only loose the batteries as both parts of locator are attached to collar but it cant happen
  15. you can only bid upto an amount that YOU think is right at the time, ie how bad you want one just a collar?, already have the knocking box? a new mk3 collar £45, and a mk1 box will pick up the signal, quicker knock, so a used mk1 collar???
  16. a water based one, less toxic if any
  17. myself, magwitch and Inan, we beat you by one
  18. maybe that should have been posted in the first post then, to allow readers to understand the post/topic properly, and maybe added that it was for pre ban stuff, that way, people like myself, who only ever hunt rabbits, would not feel the post was a little o.t.t
  19. dont know if it differs in different parts of country, but its actually illegal to let fireworks off, 5 days after nov 5th, so anymore get on the phone to plod...
