  1. would think its not so much to do with strength, but ability to purse around a rabbit, i use pidgeon netting in work, and had thought that this would make an ok long net, but its to rigid, there would be no baggyness to it, and therefore the rabbits would all to easily get back out of the net

    JOKE

saw a guy walking around the graveyard with a coffin on his back, I said oi mate i think you'vre lost the plot..... phoned the samaritans today feeling depressed they put me through to a muslim call centre when they found out i was suicidal, they were overjoyed asked if i could drive a truck or fly a plane
  3. AM SORRY, BUT WHO STARTED THE RUMOUR ABOUR GETTING FERTS JABBED UP
  4. as stated before I think the mk3 if the dogs danglies, just sold my mk1 and bought 2 more collars with the proceeds, think the collars are way better, I too was putting them on way too loose, once your past the "im gonna strangle them fear" and fit them tight, then no worries
  5. why feed mince???? ferrets are design to rip food apart, giving them whole foods is what they need, fur/feather/bone/meat, try giving your ferts a whole rabbit, gutted then cut into quarters, i always give them the head too, although lots on here dont feed or approve of ferret biscuit, i provide it all the time as i belive if they dont want it, they wont eat it, but they do, but they need more than just offal and mince,
  6. the camera to your left is the only one that can get you, even if both sides of road have white markings, the camera is calibrated for the flow of traffic passing away from it, not coming towards it, trust me, regularly get flashed both in the works van, my jeep and definatly on the bike, and never get tickets, you could always speed pass a camera doing 172mph, it was proven on "top gear" that you would then be across the lines, before it could take a picture
  7. she's gonna be bloody hard to spot at night, better get an albino for that
  8. i would'ent advise using them, apart from the extra weight of carrying, the way they are made is for planting tree posts, so your standing there, with these in ya hands, your gonna have to put a fair bit of downward force into using them, more than is really needed, i think there could be a danger of some sliced ferrets here, each to there own of course though
  9. get the nail clippers out
  10. nice pic rew, I would have said on any warren, your expecting a lot from one ferret, even on small warrens we would put a min of 2 down, but more likely 4, gets the rabbits panicing a lot quicker and bolting, rather than just running round underground

    LOST

lost is supposed to be crap, cos they are still lost on a desert island after 3 series, yet 24 is great, which was origanly the 24hrs upto the event, yet is still going on, and on, and on, and on
  12. am sure that ferret finders/terrier finders are the same, just different sized collars, e bay has quite a few boxes for sale,
  13. quote;and have a good knolige of bushcraft pity you dont have a good knowledge of english also shooting skulls, and shooting live quarry thats covered in skin/flesh/muscle and moves is totally different, also its not the penetration that kills, its the force of it hitting its mark, like a hammer to the head, the hammer dos'ent need to penetrate the skull to kill, its the stopping force, and if you dont accept that, get in touch with terry doe from airgun world and tell him, he dont know what he's on about
  14. this gets to me, we shoot or ferret rabbits, I'll eat them, therefore the dogs and ferts get them too, this goes for pheasant, grouse, duck etc, yet people still shoot ferals and say, i wont eat it, but Ill give it to the ferts, I just got in from shooting 40 plus ferals that were shitting all over a station roof, the only place they are going is in the incinerater at work, if it aint good enough for me, it certainly aint good enough for my dogs/ferrets
  15. my first car was an old "71" ford cortina mk3 that cost me all of £45, the gloss had gone from the paintwork, and if ya dragged ya hand across it, you'd have a blue hand, but it was my pride and joy, being my first car, and me knowing feck all bout motors, me and my bird (then wife) then (ex wife) thank god, were driving along when some kids shouted that we were on fire, we wernt, but we were smoking!!!!! like something out of james bond and this was the escape fog, anyway pulled over and stuck a whole gallon of oil into the engine, remember thinking, bloody hell cars drink alot of oil, of
  16. so is it being attacked in the cage?, are they sleeping together, or is the kitt being pushed out of the sleeping quarters i introduced a young kitt(hob) into my court of 8 ferts (all realated) and just left them to it, although my court is larger and has more than one sleeping area, they all get on fine good luck with yours,
  17. im delighted with my mk3, so much so ive just bought two more collars, as for loosing them, i think the wider nylon ones are great too, much easier to get on single handed and as long as they are fitted tight enough then no probs with falling off, i would imagine those who have problems with them, took them straight out the packaging and used them, rather than trying the fit at home first, and adding extra holes if needed
  18. how can you loose any collar???? if they come off underground, you can still dig to them if they are coming off, then you need to put them on tighter, as long as you can twist it round the ferts neck, then the fert will be ok, my mk3 collars work brill, no need to adapt, just put on correctly
  19. when myself and magwich use the longnets, we tend to completely encircle the holes so the rabbits cant run the length of it, also i think when doing this you deffo need more than one fert down, otherwise they do tend to appear from one hole, dissappear down another, stick four ferts down, heats up the pace and gets them to run out easier....
  20. the e bay shop is called a1tackleshop, just do a search on it have not been able to find anymore cheap mk3 collars, so ordered 2 more direct from DEBEN, as they have courier rather than crap postal services, so i should get them monday cost me £100 with delivery charge and sorry but the mk1 has now sold
  21. hi mate, you have answered the question yourelf; quote; a ferret finder was essential then go onto say if a fert slips a collar and buggers off, so that shows your already thought of that scenario, a propelly fitted collar wont come off, then if the fert wanders off, you can still use the ferret finder above ground to locate it
  22. I used to find then in my ex wifes cooking, so got rid of her.......sorry wrong spelling (hair)
