  1. long netting & net-making a rabbit catchers guide by jon hutcheon visit the website at www.crowood.com
  2. think gaz is nearest......... I honestly dont know, we got her 3rd hand and she's only 12 weeks old today, but she was born on a gypo camp, and has then gone from pillar to post, untill I saw her and remarked to the owner that we'd take her, only for my other half to recieve a text the next day asking if we'd take her from said person, so if anyones interested, ill post some pics along the way to see what she grows into thanks for the ideas though
  3. I would'ent splash out on a quick set net straight away, at least untill you know its something that will be used and compleament your ferreting I was lucky enough to be given a 100yd long net, have ordered a set of end pins from molecatcher, and picked up some poles from e bay, so so far my outlay has been £30 I am toying with the Idea to turning the 100yd'er into 2x 50yds nets, as I have enough poles for both, an Im sure as a novice they will be easier to handle I attended a ferreting day at the NFR and was shown the quickset system with basket and yup it looks great, but at around £175

    where to get

woodman, thats what i want to achieve, the clip ive got shows how to join two ends without forming a knot, the FID i saw slip over the end of the nylon, but looking at your link, i suppose i could use any type of rigid wire and tape, did look on e bay, could only find large metal ones for mariners
  9. right, cant remember where I saw it, but saw a clip on splicing nylon long net head and foot lines together, it looked like a small red plastic tool, but on doing a google search I can only find metal one's which look miles to big, anyone on here know where I can get this device, or add a photo of how you do yours many thanks
  10. [bANNED TEXT], even for non council tennants?????
  11. what's he, a midget then? if you can get a BIC biro pen in the hole, then a mouse will fit no problem the only downside to using poison's aint the smell so much, although if you'vre got a large infestation you'll smell it, but the flies and maggots that come with all these dead rodents in ya attic Id say go with the good old fashion break back traps "little nipper" using either peanut butter or cooked pasta (wired on) or a multi catch trap
  12. as always, brill advice ditch, and a pleasure to read
  13. no one likes wasp's, but theres good money in doing them, dunno what the going rate is in the rest of the country, but the firm I work for charge between £65 and £95 per nest, I on the other hand only charge £35 when doing private's, would'ent moan at a couple of them a day
  14. yup, theres certainly good and bad jobs good jobs; standing on a platforms edge from 01.00am till 03.45am shooting ferals, then jumping into the van and whacking the heating up full blast before driving home.... bad jobs; attending a flat in central london, where an old couple lived, she had passed away and 3 months later the neighbours ask the old guy how he's getting on, he invites them in for tea and a chat, only for them to see her laying on the floor where she died, with him still chatting to her, they cart him away and they remove the body, the council shut/board the place up
  15. had seen a few posts telling others to read this book, so as a complete novice to longnetting took all your advice, and bought a copy, came this morning and I just could'ent put it down, so its now been read, bloody brilliant read and a book that will be referred back to again and again, informs you of everything you always wondered, but did'nt wanna ask for fear of sounding silly, for those like myself who are interested in this art, take my advice and invest in this book, you wont regret it you'll then know what "the kill" really means
  16. try this seller on e bay sellallsorts got the one in the picture, inc postage for around £25
  17. LOOK ON THE "PIDGEON WATCH FORUM" THERES A GUY SELLING AN 8 MAN, 2 ROOMED TENT FOR £70 in coventry
  18. I presume he means, any small type 2 stroke engine, chainsaw being easy to carry, over mix with the oil, and a pipe running from the exhaust smoke the rabbits out although the use of exhaust gasses to gas is illegal, so we wouldent use that
