Any Tricks Or Tips With Rat-Scatters?
stubby replied to RemyBolt's topic in General Airgun Discussion
buy a large tin of cheap dog food, punch loads of holes in it with a 3" nail, tie it down somewhere and put a light near it, then sit and wait, the rats need to lap at what oozes out, rather than grabbing and running, gives you time for shots -
oh the fun of being a pestie, the best tool in this job is your nose, as already stated, find it, remove it, then place a rentokil orchid sachet to remove the smell, which as you have removed the suspected item, will be gone in 24hrs, now the fact that your saying it's an ongoing problem would make most professional pest controllers rule out a dead rodent, as those normally stop smelling after 10-`14 days, anything longer would normally point towards a sewage problem, yes there are times when it could be a hoard of dead rodents, but you would know from your previous pest control at this premis

Applying For My Firearms Licence, What To Get
stubby replied to Daz Harrison's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
so you need a fac and a shotgun licence, or you could just try getting a section 1 shotgun to go on a fac, I'd check with your fao first, as some allow .22 rimfire to be used on foxes, bring them in to around 60yds on a squeak and the rimmy puts them down easy, that would keep your outlay down and ammo is cheap if you have only used air rifles upto this point, then sometimes it's better to get the shotgun cert first, in which case it wont be sec 1, but it'll get you started, and can still be used on close foxes, then 6-12 months later apply for the fac, it all depends on your firearms d -
Police Call To My House After Shooting In My Garden.
stubby replied to pianoman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
what did you call the police for? so if you saw a shooter, shooting protected birds you wouldn't ? -

try putting your brain into gear and READ my last reply, no where do I say it's illegal to use a stone, what I say is the general license is regarding shooting (which uses mostly a lead projectile) and therefore catapult users could argue the point out if ever need be, that they use a lead ball, can you see this now??? but openly admitting on an open forum that you used a stone, would be you couldn't use that idea as for me not reading the general license, you tend to have to, to pass the BPCA, but whether you belive that or not, does not matter one bit, its down to the individual shooter to

totally illegal by the sounds of it, Not at all illegal. totally illegal by the sounds of it,Not at all illegal.cheers Charlie caller didn't know what to go by someone definitely needs to read up on the general license that's for sure, wood pigeon are NOT CLASSED AS VERMIN, all british birds are protected by law, in certain circumstances the law allows us to class them as pests, and carry out culling, if all other non lethal means have been of no use, we are then allowed to cull wood pigeons coming down on farmers fields can legally be shot, this argument wil

catching crays is not classed as fishing, its trapping, crayfish can get everywhere, they walk across land to find mates, so its down to you to do some leg work, piece of string and bit of bacon, then simply do test dunks on patches of water near to where you live, streams/rivers/ponds/lakes etc, if you pull up a red signal crayfish, you have found your spot, then simply apply to the environment agency for some tags, you can have upto 10, so ask for 10, give them the location, if they give you tags, it means that no native crayfish are in the area, if they refuse, its because of that How do yo

Wanted Permission To Shoot In The North West Area Vermins Or Pests
stubby replied to Roger rabbiit's topic in Rabbit Shooting
fook me, fair enough people asking for land are being a bit daft. To be fair though this site helped me enjoy and make the most of what i love doing. How about offering some advice and steering them in the direction by way of basc membership. Good permission letters. How to come across as respectful and trust worthy to land owners. nah sounds too much like being fair with people. Lets just rip the shit into everyone???? do you even have any interest in this part of the forum bar you and rake getting on your high horse. one of the reasons had enough of this site. Wind your neck in. -
dunk your sack/pillow case in water, then wring out, that damp no, no need to feed, they are meat eaters, they will feed on the weakest one in the sack they semi hibernate, so once the weather warms up, is when the crays come out of burrows in the banks

these are much easier, and cheaper, home made from 27" bike wheel rims, steel or alloy makes no difference, some netting that you find on the side of scaffold on buildings, and the wire cage you put bread in for the wild birds, plastic zip ties to hold everything together, they have 3 wires from the rim to a centre point (like a pyramid) with a wooden float and a clip to attach your line too, these are drop nets, so not left in over night, simply drop, wait a few minutes and pull out, we average around 200 crays per hour using 3 of these, total cost about £3 each

after playing on my neighbours quad that he uses in his woodland, I came home wanting one for our wood too, speed was not so importand, but the ability to tow a small trailer with logs was, looking on e bay I was either looking at 2k plus for something half decent, or cheap as chips and take a gamble, well I went a complete different way, and bought an old sit on mower instead it'll do everything I want it too, might even fix a gun rack on it, and try a bit of lamping

so around a year ago I bought this for my wife (without her being there) big mistake as it's way to heavy for her to lug around the woods, It has two spare bottles, two mags, a bsa scope/silencer and bsa gun case, have the receipt paid £425 bought a new filling bottle at same time too (separate purchase) so I'm either looking at selling the rifle only (so I can buy a lighter rifle for her, and use this bottle) or sell complete, or swap rifle for another, perhaps a bsa ultra? as per forum rules wanting a price, I'll say £350 on rifle set up, not i
