  2. you can tell it aint in the uk, over here two things would be different 1, you would never touch your mates man boob checking for wounds 2, everyone else would be laughing
  3. so get there early but dont shoot till after he's stopped working, I read a ratting story, where someone shot and broke an important piece of farm machinery, because the glow from a red LED light looked like a rats eye
  4. I wouldn't turn up at night, I'd get there a couple of hours before dusk, so as the check out best areas, safe and unsafe areas etc, then set up a couple of feeding stations, cheap dog food with holes punched in tin, tied to a post, hopefully in better lit areas, unless you have NV

  6. who's land will you be putting these onto? maybe the fact that rabbits are not around in huge numbers, should give you a clue that the areas cant support them? introducing a non native species that's classed as a pest, am sure your breaking one or two laws
  7. so, send a pm to a moderator and ask them to remove your phone number, the editing button only stays on the post for a few hours so, rather than a wanted post, try adding a swap post, try offering a day out on your permission in exchange for one on theirs, that way it don't look like you want something for nothing
  8. Im not trying to be horrible, but have just looked at the wanted section (pigeons) and gone through the first two pages full, everyone is a new member, and all want the same thing, mostly all have said they tried a couple of farms but no joy (it took me 3yrs of knocking to get my first) then hover your cursor over their forum name, 99% have not been back to the forum in 5 to 6 months, now you'll understand why older members are weary about handing out permissions to new members with no post count, just wanted posts so, my advice if you are serious about finding permission on THIS FORUM
  9. so you went to a couple, and then gave up and thought it would be easier to just ask on the net, it took me around 3yrs of asking before landing a decent permission, and Im a full time pestie, Would it be possible for a day out on your land with a friend rake even if your there could be give us some tips I have a permission but it was a favour letting me on and is not letting any others on with me and as my freind mark got me into shooting we are still looking for a place we can go together thanks very much my advice would be, don't hijack other members wanted posts, sta
  10. as with all posts, you never know who your talking too, until its too late, yes, Im a woodland owner, but no you wont get permission from me because ......... Stubby, Chris Hanrahan said you were always a Miserable Tight SOD. he only moans cos he had to work when he was with me, I didn't put up with his bad back ploy to stop work, here's a very rare picture of him, pretending to do some work for the camera
  11. just a suggestion here mate, as at the moment your acting like a block who wants to shag his bird without taking her out for a meal first, you have two posts, both asking for permission, yet no introduction post telling us all about you, I'd also suggest removing your mobile number, as this is an open forum that has visits from anti's, thats why forums have "private messaging" functions. try using the search button, do a search on "seeking permission" and you'll notice you aint the first new member here that does not introduce themselves, and wants shooting permission on a plate, then ask you

  13. seems they don't realise, that by hovering the cursor over their forum name, you can see the last time they were on the forum, so he visited again last night, yet still failed to leave a reply, as the guy's on the 118 advert say we've got your number
  14. well, he was online around 3pm, and nothings been posted, proves a point
  15. ask him, as I presume he wants you catching moles on his land, if he will stump up and buy you 100 or so traps, if so, your only going to loose a few hours, watch some you tube clips and give it a go, if you don't catch, or get bored, its only cost you your time, he won't be miffed about the outlay will he?? if not, tell him to get a professional in, after all, that why you get mole catchers/pest controllers although I reckon I should try driving a combine harvester, just as a little extra income

  17. I made a transport cage that fitted in the rear of the 4x4, I could then take out 10 young and older ferts, leaving most in the cage and just taking 2 or 3 in the box to the warrens, that way they could be rotated throughout the day, letting youngsters run with the old un's if we were having a long day, other than that, 3 ferts in a carry box all day
  18. I always found the jimny too small width wise, so have the vitara but also a freelander, as the rear back half comes off, or the sun roofs can be taken out
  19. they are ok for what they are, thats why I leave them to record 20 second clips, rather than take pictures
  20. I went there about 6 yrs ago, in all honesty, great if you like shooting targets, but we had a walk around and never saw a thing, may well have changed since then though
  21. I use 2 trail cams, both from maplins, using the batteries that came with, set up to take 20 second video's, I replaced the batteries after about 2 months, but they wern't dead, still half full, added durecell about 2 months ago and still showing a full charge I suppose it'll depend how many times its activated, but one had a few hundred videos on it I did buy bigger, better quaility SD cards, you can get them for pictures or videos, so make sure if upgrading you get the right ones
  22. I make mine from bending 2x2 pigeon mesh, I then either add mesh to the ends with one 2"x2" hole cut out, or use twigs pushed into the ground, caught many rabbits, squirrels and rats in these
