  1. Ive always had salt licks and mineral blocks hung up in my courts, and they are always used
  2. as much as some ferret keepers hate dry food, I belive its neccessary with kitts, a full bowl of dry ferret food is always available, plus the evening feeds of rabbit, fed after dark to keep flies away
  3. heres a short clip, of magwitch setting a quickset longnet for you to study mate
  4. why not just move it and say nothin ? well then the guy may not have realised his mistake, all the forums can get confussing, that way, he'll look more closely in future, or do you think I have nothing better to do all day but move posts to the correct forums, because no one mentions the mistake
  5. I managed to pick 12 grommets up at a country fayre, and you guessed it, when I got home saw that I needed 13, so looking around "wickes" yesterday, saw a pack of 6 cane ends, for £1.68 took a chance that they would fit, and they do they have slines inside, so they will fit different thickness poles, and being bright yellow, can be used to denote your first and last pole in the basket, and they have a large head, thus making them easy to push in so jack, get yaself down to wickes
  6. I'll move this post for you to the correct section, as the parson is not a rimfire/shotgun
  7. looks good to me, at least you attempted it, Ive seen many write ups on using the saw blade, keep meaning to give it a go myself,
  8. sorry I could'ent make it mate, next time
  9. and people wonder why we get bad press, when Idiots are mentioning they feed live/wild caught rodents
  10. we tend to get to permissions just before 9am, if you think about it, ferreting in the autumn/winter months, means shorter days, therefore best to get out there and start early, have a full day, and be able to finish before it gets dark, incase you have any ferts lay up underground, nothing worst that digging in the dark
  11. its boredom thanks for the link oldskool, looks an interesting site
  12. our bitch jrt gets on great with ferts, she'll mark holes, and even let us know what hole the bolting rabbit or fert will appear at, but our dog jrt, we could never trust, as a ratter, he'd go for a fert as soon as you turn your back
  13. must be an age thing; I thought it was CRAP
  14. Look mate if the recessin is hitting you hard im sure we can club together and get you a jacket lol makes me think back, was it the "liverbirds" that had a brother who bred rabbits for jackets

at the end of the day, its the ferret that chooses their sleeping quarters, on a large hutch I built, I made two sleeping areas at the bottom of the 3 tier hutch, very cosy and cool, so I though, they ended up using one for hiding food in, and the other as a shitter
  17. somewhere with a rat infestation prehaps no, seriously, I personnaly would'ent put my ferts to rats, but its everyone's choice would rather use the smoker and terriers
  18. they look bloody weird Ian, prehaps we'll see a reduction in price on the now mk3 collar
  19. do a search on finders on here, you'll find loads of pro's and con's on both units

no, thats "nipper" a big sandy hob, he must be kinky, as he likes the ladies on top
  22. we have an area about 14ft x 12ft with a 6x4 shed as the hen house, permanant end of the garden ex battery hens cost us 50p each, we have 7 and get anything between 4 to 6 eggs daily
  23. the old boy probably meant "a linner" jill ferts were used without any string/locators, if the jills then killed underground, a big hob "linner" was sent in, line attached, knowing he would end up at the killed rabbit and jill, the line could then be dug to, but if you think about it, alot more digging, as you'd have to follow the whole line, nowdays a locator will put you right above the ferret, only needing to be dug down as for how many times does one dig, thats the same as how long is a piece of string somedays not at all, others every time
