    ANY 1

I too like chris left the construction trade, and a very good wage, after watching "the life of grime" and thinking it looked interesting, I applied for a job that I saw on the internet, as they were looking for people with construction skills, not affraid of hieghts etc, got offered the job straight away, starting at the bottom on £15000 a year, was half what I earnt in building, anyway, you got a company van and phone, so I thought I'd give it a year and see how I got on with the job, and if wages would improve I work nights, sub contracted to london underground, although our hours are
  3. it would be wise to get yourself a longnetting dvd first to watch, as you dont "roll the net up" but gather it up on the end pins, unless of course you want a quicket longnet, it which case its loaded into a basket,
  4. looks like he has already given up on the fert, better to save up and buy a locator, although a replacement ferret is far cheaper each time
  5. if members are gonning to reply to posts, can they please just use the "add reply" button, rather than the "reply" button, as theres really no need to duplicate the same pictures every time, if you want to quote someone, deleate the pictures from the quote used before posting, as for a indian tracker, relying on his bushcraft skills to track, fair point, but how do you track a ferret underground without a locator if you want to play the waiting game, fair play to you, but what happens if the ferret does not appear after a few hours, how would any person, even an indian tracker, locate t
  6. so in other words, you want to save on cutting the grass seriously, rabbits may have dissapeared from these other area's, not because of mixy, but other reasons, maybe the habitat cannot sustain a colony of rabbits, or natural predators keep them away, theres not many places that have not had a rabbit population hit by mixi, but when that happens, rarely do rabbits vacate the area for good, these areas you wish to re populate, have they got old warrens on them, if not, then maybe theres your answer, if they have, then rabbits would re- instate themselves there, unless one of the above fac
  7. nice pics scot, love the seat for watching them, as for your silver mitt, snap, I kept a wee little jill back, thats a silver mitt, she's more the size of a greyhound ferret, eventually bought her inside to live with my daughters pet fert as she was getting picked on by my bigger bunch, she's like a pocket rocket, fast as f*ck, jumps from anything, dont bite, barring socks, lol
  8. Im sorry, but what an utter load of b******s, that sounds like something a pet keeper would say, so all these ferrets I have in cages will turn feral will they no need for a locator cant think much of your ferts then, thats all I can say
  9. I just tried it! It must be 'Mods only' in there! you plonker rodney (said with a del boy accent) your looking in the wrong section, that topic is a subsection at the very top of page, put there by admin, scroll down a couple of lines, you'll see it in the "important section" under q & a
  10. go to the poundshop mate you can buy a card with all sizes on,try the different ones in the collar cap and away to go,they are working fine on my mk1 15ft collar, and also on my mk3...just try them/// makes me laugh, you go to the expense of putting a ferret finder on your ferret, be it mk1 or mk3, with a collar price ranging from say £30 to £45 then buy cheap chinky batteries to put in it you may get one outing per battery and then chuck in the bin, but what happens if it dont, and it fails after a couple of hours, even worse if the fert slipped the collar, thats money down the sw
  11. nice photo's, but looking at them holes, you either need more collars, or more helping hands with there own ferrets, I would have said at least 6 but pref more, to get rabbits bolting,
  12. thats weird, the topic is not locked, and i just tried posting and it worked fine
  13. let me know a price for 3 off the collars?
  14. you would use live catch traps, but where are you moving them onto?
  15. like what info?, ask a question in there and get an answer, unless your hoping someone will write an essay on mk1,mk2,mk3
  16. it was dug to at the 8ft reading of 2ft

    strange question

middle poles use a clove hitch
  18. hyperion, theres no need to worry about asking questions mate, fire away, the above statement was to show that having a pinned topic, would not stop other topics being started, as an example, we have a pinned ailments section at the top, which i put there after a few members said it was needed, members can post advice, ask questions etc in there, is it used, is it feck, they just start a new topic in the un pinned section if too many topics are pinned, it leaves about 5 lines for normal posts, meaning within hours questions/stories etc would be on the 2nd page, and I bet most folk simply
  19. two words spring to mind, jammy and git
  20. in an ideal world, would'ent life be so simply, but as kay has already mentioned, it dont matter weather we have one or not, questions will still get posted, new members young or old, will either use the excuse that they dont know how to use a computer, or they cant be bothered to do a search for the answers they need, and a seperate post will be put up, giving mods more work having to move them
  21. from a previous post you were asking others where they had permission, then posted that you had all the gear but no permission, and that you'd better go ask some farmers, just came across as wanting others to give you permission areas, but good on ya, you'vre gone out looking and come up trumps
  22. sorry, the sport is good for so much more, heres a scoot I had a few years back, covered in the daily sport headlines
  23. when you look at the ferreting section, if you scroll to the bottom of the page, bottom left you'll see little boxes with the numbers 1,2,3 etc etc, this is the amount of pages on the ferreting section, click on each page to go back through old posts and look, or top right of page you'll see "search" click on that, then enter the word hutches or courts, it will bring up every post that contains that word heres a couple for ya..
  24. its always hard getting the first permission, but once you have one, it esculates, try looking at anything next door to the farms you would like permission on, ie houses with back gardens backing onto fields, knock and offer "free" rabbit control, if you get these do a "google earth" and take a printed overhead picture to the farm, you then tell them your doing free rabbit control for mr so and so, but the rabbits are coming through boundary fence, could they give you permission to snare this fence line that way, your not asking them to give you permission over 100% of their land, just this
  25. from reading both topics you have running, it sounds like upto this point you'vre wanted your fac handed to you on a plate
