  4. Mine was short haired Hope that works but most tend to use wirehaird I did spend time training a wirehaird Hungarian visla and that proved very capable, long and short or it it is personal preference, a good lab or terrier will follow blood,
  5. The above books are good, my late pointer would work anything and seemed to know when you were stalking, as his whole demeaner changed, a good book which focuses a little more on blood scenting, although the guy mainly uses teckle terriers but the principle is the same as I have used it on both and still have a Teckel, look for a author called John jeaneny, I think the book is dogs for blood scenting deer, I will correct this if it's wrong later on, as I will need to dig the book out, between the books suggested by joe, and this book you will have most of the answers you need,

  7. What Nigel said in that European meeting was straight to the point, and in the nose of the European ministers,he didn't duck anything,he didn't suck up to anyone like our politicians do,and he was right if that was the going's on,then where's the democracy in that, they couldn't beat us in war,so they will take the country through secret votes, and EU law's and we will give them it, co's half of our politicians are as bent as a nine bob note, and they cannot deny it, with the crap that's been going through our parliament, At least Nigel challenges what he believes is not right, instead of rolling

  10. It will be a bumper crop this yr without doubt,
  11. Nigel is a top bloke straight talking, and that scares them, all this government is doing is giving us placebos, hoping we will be stupid enough to think, they are curing or ills or think we will believe they actually care about us,its all crap we are a minority who are being alienated by the press at every turn, our rights constantly chipped away at till there's nothing left,

  14. Keep at it women are naturals, and there's nothing wrong with a twenty bore, but as said above take a few lesson's and relax into the sport, you will find your place within it,my missis is a good shot, but she doesn't spend time at it, her first, was a roe deer 150 yds after two practice shots, I know hers was rifle, but I find women can really apply them selves to shooting, all aspects of it too good luck enjoy,
  15. Its gone mad, if I am honest I think that stuff should be exclusively for the military, all we need is that equipment falling into the wrong hands, and our boy's loose advantage, its bad really but where does it end,
  16. danw is right, but get a mouth call they are cheap but effective, take a bit of getting used to but that's the challenge of it,I use one of them faulks calls and it works well, and as far as I am aware, and I am sure someone will put me right on here not illegal,

  18. spreading despondency... do you trust anything the bbc do, never mind being run by antis its one of the top pedo rings Are you suggesting they would rig the poll? what exactly is your point? I just wonder sometimes about people who try to put a negative slant on things in favour of the other side. Whos side are you on. If its ours just vote fukcing YES!!if they were not trying to rig the poll why write it in away that people have to ask other people, how to understand the question, the start of this thread is about people not understanding, the f****ing thing and why are we not, asking th
  19. If we do not start hammering the BBC complaints commission, parliament, and Europe about the constant bombardment, against our human right to hunt or gather food our own way, we will lose the right to do it, why are BASC BDS or countryside alliance, not bouncing out the rafters over it, we are not receiving fare representation, from the BBC or any of the television companies, the BBC, take money from us all as in TV licences,so they have to represent us all,it is a worrying time for field sports,
  20. I cannot discount the 222 as I had one, and regretted the day I sold it for a long time,I have a 223 and love the round brilliant little gun,However I sold my 17 HMR and bought a 22 hornet, and again love the round and use it more than the 223,I do not yet reload for it,although I have the gear now to do so,and will when I have shot my factory ammo off,I believe the hornet is better than the 17 HMR but that's my personal preference, the trouble I had was getting a consistent supply of 17 HMR ammo,I had issues with the case necks cracking, although I never had one stuck in the barrel,I was told th
