  1. Good little day you've had there. Well done.
  2. Its bill makes it look like a crow. Paulus, here in the pennines, we do get large flocks of crows, and this goes against the grain of what some people think. Until you see it you may not believe it. Crows can be pretty gregarious as well. Its mighty anoying when decoying crows to a carcass and a small flock all turn up at once, because although you might get a couple, the rest of them bugger off never to return. (I often wonder if they fly off and tell their mates ) I would sooner have a steady trickle of them all day! This is a pic of a crow with discoloured wings I whacked s
  3. Exactly! Rimfire is only a means of ignition, not an inferior tool. Now what you shoot with it is a different matter.
  4. At least your not called the Gayboys! Welcome to the site and happy "huntin" "shootin" and "fishin" or whatever your game is.
  5. I've been lucky, but I know its been flipping hard for some to get that first permission. After that it can get a little easier over years, building up friendships with that farmer, who then introduces you to his mates, intentionally or by accident, and it goes from there onwards. Get beating if you can, and get talking to all the lads. If they see you are genuine and know a little about the game, they will invite you for the occasional shoot with them, bashing jackdaws or pigeons etc, and after a bit that will lead to better things in some cases. Best of luck, but I dont think you will g
  6. Nice little vid there mate. I dont use a dog when ferreting, but going to get one someday it looks great.
  7. Seroiusly mate, I wont pay to control vermin, its a two way thing. The farmer has a problem, I have the solution. He gets rid of his vermin (or at least has them controlled) and I get the sport. One thing I always do though, is make sure they get a nice bottle, at Christmas, and on my initial introduction I always offer to give them a hand should they need it, in return for the opportunity. To date, I have never been asked to do the latter, with the exception of giving up more of my time to assist on fox drives! It works for me, but its their gift to give. You also have to remember
  8. The best battle and strength of character of the world cup so far. Absolutely edge of the seat, but unfortunate result!
  9. What a place to have a back door step! You lucky sod. Hope the lad is exited as his Dad.
  10. He is normaly a FLEMISH speeking person Tegater (Dutch speeking as you say in England) but he surely speeks very very well French to as we all overhere in Belgium .... OK I will try this then. "Goede Middag " wouhaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... Thank you mate...... You speek Flemish.... (or is it oogle translate??? ) I know a little.... a worked in Antwerp for a few months years ago. "Asterbleef" was another one I can remember, but I cant remember how to spell it!! 11. The design of the reflector also has a big impact on the quality and brightness of the beam. For example if I compare a surefire 200 lumens against my Lenser P7 200 lumens, the Lenser beats it hands down. However they are supposidly the same light output.

    Kids

I found with my two kids who are now 10 and 7, they have always liked being out doors. Granted in the winter with dark nights that is harder to do. From an early age I had taken them out, and we made things from the wild, like whistles from bits of apple tree, or cow parsley, and we snared rabbits at every opportunity, (or at least I did, and they enjoyed it). We went up on the moors with a small tent and camped out over night. I took them beating on one of the farms I have permission, and took them to the end of season beaters shoot and party, the eldest shooting with a 28bore when he was 7.
