  1. Some of us do not reply BECAUSE we do not trap them so can not answer, others are quite probably out and about doing better things than reply straight away, only my opinion
  2. bryn27, is this really needed, thought you agreed to draw a line under this debacle and do what we do best! Helping others out. You can do an honest review, but think you will find they are a great extra tool in the box, fantastic in public areas where covert trapping needed. Clive has done us all a big service, introducing us to these traps Hail Clive Hail Clive Hail Clive
  3. Ah the hori hori, Yes I do use sometimes and works fairly well, but being curved is a pain when trying to cut a straight line (obvious) much better if flat, let us know what happens

  5. Sounds like my brother-in-law has beaten you to it Smithie. He's got a home made on on eBay already he's welcome to it. the difference was I'd be giving them away. I'm not motivated by money at all. Clive, your BIL is selling them with the putanges, not separately. Smithie as I have stated before has a heart of gold, he makes stuff for people, then sends them out to them at his own cost and asks for nothing in return. TC Yes, I understand that. No offence was intended. My brother-in-law Ian is one of those people who won't stand fast, and when he found himself short of s
  6. You know when its been raining alot? Open up a mole run, and its a full on mini stream
  7. I simply have an extra peg pushed into the ground for each extra trap - works for me unless its a public place, then use phone pictures to help find traps to check and little twigs in ground Putanges are great for public areas, as long as no one about when first set
  8. I have used gas but like Darcy said is very hit/miss. And using gas always worried me - what if the mole/rat/rabbit kicked the tablet out before the gas being released, and along comes a dog or person. So traps for moles it is.
  9. Think you all will be winners with the little Putange
  10. This is one for Clive to comment on!! Had a lady ask me about moles in a garden as she has run out of "land mines" when asked she said her brother brought them over from France last year. Apparently they are placed in the run and "blows the mole up" What do you know about these Clive??
  11. Would not think so, but you could check with manufacturers. Have used out of date Ficam W before, always been ok, did check with Bayer rep to make sure first
  12. Clive, does this one count?? Might have been the very lovely pink string worm that lured this mole in!!
  13. Anyone recommend shooting? or any better solutions
  14. I find voles often take over old mole runs and then get calls for holes in the lawn
  15. Purchased 10 claw traps (Talpa/Talpex) from FlatPack along with another 60 duffus, still waiting for my first mole, mind you I do tend to put a backup trap or 2 in as well, the duf normally wins the day. Just wish I could master them and guarantee the results, its not rocket science, is it??
  16. You will love Putanges for risky areas, but will still involve covert operations
  17. Had moles up to 7" thats a big mole, unlikely to get longer, but you never really know. Someone may prove me wrong now Clive is right, buy good traps, if not sure what a good trap is, buy from suppliers that others recommend - Flatpack, Fourteenacre etc When I started many years ago, I caught moles for free for friends etc, then when felt slightly more confident would charge silly cheap prices to others and advertise locally to continue practising my skills. Now I class my self as a professional and charge well, but remember your only as good as your last mole caught. Being good and b
  18. Nice Video Clive, was expecting a slight french twang to your voice. Been using my putanges for quite a while now on/off. Vey good in public areas as long as they are set when no one is looking, never had any disturbed, where you can with other traps when the spring pops through the soil. Not always possible to heap enough soil up on the duffus, especially if folk play footy. Think the others who use them will find them useful sometimes
  19. Had a call yesterday from a business that have been under attack from crows!! It all started last March when new glass was fitted that produces a mirror effect, that has encouraged crows to peck constantly at the windows, the patio doors and other areas. This is not anything that I have dealt with before and in fact they live to far away from me so have declined to offer help. So if you had this type of call what would you do? ie shoot some, Larsen? can that be used this time of year or anything else. Had thought about bird gel, but would not work around the patio doors as would be
  20. Does any one know if the latest killgerm offer of 20 mole tunnel traps for £72 are decent traps, ie flatpack? could do with a few more plus other bits+bobs, so want to buy all at one place to save on postage. Cheers
  21. I would defo snare here, simply because I could. Would make sure that I was squeaky clean regarding the law, if you do that, then no action can be taken Enjoy.........with a smile and remember to wave
  22. You know what it is like............... You approach the trap in anticipation of a catch, two springs gone off, I still get excited to see what I have got, is it one or two, or has mr/mrs mole sussed me out and blocked the trap with soil, its exciting for me, so imagine its the same for the customer. If it is not exciting, then no point doing it Luckily most customers keep well away, but do get the odd one who checks
