  1. Went to the Game Fair yesterday, first time for many years, quite enjoyable day out with the family. BUT, why do certain minority of folk there think its cool to walk around a country show wearing camo jackets/ t shirts and the like!!! Of course wear country clothing if you fancy but not camo, your not hunting/stalking Leave all that stuff at home it has no use here,
  2. Agree Ficam W still works wonders for most insect pests
  3. A friend has been asking for a solution to red mite in chicken coop and on the chickens, they have tried various powders from farm supply shops but not working.I have never kept chickens, so cant give much advice So far have suggested going over the wood with a propane burner to kill mites in the coop. Are there any other sensible ideas other than eat the chicks etc Cheers
  4. Its a set up!! Catch your mole by normal means, occasionally mole is not dead in trap, so put it in a blocked tunnel or in run, make the ground up, and guess what "catch your mole by hand" See video did not show mole walking normally, picked up and taken away Thats my answer!!
  5. WHY DO YOU WANT TO ???? My advice is ditch the trap and let the professionals catch mink
  6. Do agree with others you look very employable on paper. Think you need to knock on doors or contact the likes of Rentokil to see whats on offer Good Luck
  7. Have a chat with Natural England, cant see a problem, but they might put restrictions of when the trapping can be done.
  8. As Nod says there are other training providers.have a look at:- Barretine pest control NPTA BPCA Lantra will be others as well
  9. At very least you need a folder, in that folder you WILL have a location map of where you have placed rodenticide bait (ideally numbered) a laminated sheet works well, as when baits are moved about, the map can be updated with little stickers. * A written report on every visit detailing what you have done, bait placement, name of/active ingredient used + quantity. Tamper resistant boxes/bait burrowing etc Any recommendations you make. * If you happen to abducted by aliens, then the farmer will know where poison baits are around the farm. Defo do a course when you can
  10. That`s a new one on me, does that mean that I need to carry a compass as well now?? lol
  11. Have you compressed the pic so that it can be uploaded?
  12. I get best results from using the DUFFUS or HALF BARREL trap. Think you should try these. There are plenty of setting advice on U Tube for starters. What ever you do keep practising, and you will get more proficient at it
  13. Had a call today about red ants invading a conservatory which borders the grass. I have used Formidor for black ants, but believe red ants are mainly protein feeders so not interested in sweet feeds?? Am I correct??
  14. They are game in USA, never really fancied them myself, although a local butcher sells them occasionally. Most I have had is 16 using tunnels and fenns, thought that was alot
  15. Had a job this week for some moles in the grounds of a country house. It was warm, as was the soil, a really nice experience. makes a lovely change from the winter moles, cold, wet and windy, with the often thoughts of "Why"
  16. I spoke to him (by phone) recently. He seemed ok,.............. And did he say why is he so elusive these past months?
  17. He is a goodun, have on several occasions pm him for advice, very helpful MT do you know his whereabouts?
  18. He is still trying to find his old duffus trap :tongue2: Dedication or WHAT!!
  19. Fabricated costs, ah i see why it costs you so much. must get my sundry costs back after 20 jobs, of course Office - yes 50p for 1 call for a wasp nest, 1 x report, well that`s comes under stationary. Waste disposal £245 per year As sole trader, I claim office use, storage of equipment/materials, stationary, home telephone etc etc all against my tax return. £40-£50 for a wasp nest - perfect Agree with tiercel, don`t think it sinks in does it Mud
  20. Travel £1 per mile!!! Claim 45p/mile for tax purposes, really £5 for office? A phone call, an answer, 50p max. sundries? so after 20 jobs the cost goes down to by £18 so that £31, Materials £1 really , you only get 30 jobs from 3kg of Ficam D?, So each job costs peanuts (relatively)
  21. Something is very wrong if you can only make £50 profit after 10 jobs
