  1. Hate bully's and bullying with a vengeance.. Had a bit at a school I went to for a bit but nipped it in the bud, it's funny how most bully's, big mouths etc aren't all they make out to be.... Twice spent a night in the cells for sticking up for people being bullied both times I couldn't help myself I can't stand back and watch people being bullied.... Some muppet in Kentucky after the pub, chucking food in a couple of girls hair then offering a young coloured lad out.... Because he was black.... Unfortunately I was nicked trying to teach him some manners... The young lad turned out to be a 17
  2. Really good read.... Gnasher, not only interesting to read about your times but nice to hear of genuine affection and respect for a man who obviously played a big part in your life.... Lovely sentiment mate..... There's only the odd person who comes along and leaves a lasting impression on your life and maybe changes the way you think, behave or act... As far as Marvellous Marvin is concerned... My first dog was given to me by my mum in the mid 80s I called him Hagler... The first fighter I took an interest in..
  3. Set up a small veg patch a few years back, for me and the kids to mess with, lettuce, tomatoes and strawberries went well first year, but I also put some pumpkins in ( the kids idea) bloody hell it was like triffids taking over the garden... I should've cut them back but I was fascinated to see how far they would go... Bad idea they completely ruined the lawn but we had about 25-30 small to medium pumpkins off of it..... I'm having to get the garden re-turfed because of them...lol We're having a good go this year , the spuds are in ( they were good last year), onion sets and garlick plus t
  4. Good luck with the pup mate, she looks like she's growing nicely
  5. Why do stupid threads like this get so many replies???? Shit I just replied!!!!!
  6. Reintroduction is a tricky area i would think, Everyone is in different situations as far as permission and who else shares your permission.... My point being my main permissions are farmland, the main reason I have them is to help control the rabbit population ( I'm by no means a pest controller or professional by the way lol), I also hunt with 2 other lads who have their own permission and they have the same obligation to the farmers.... It's up to you to look after your land, try to hunt within the season, heavy pregnant does let them go, lay less net towards the end if the season ( give t
  7. Well done mate, the pup will benefit from this handling no doubt, I think everyone enjoys the nights where you put a few more than normal away... But my point was its not the be all and end all, I think sometimes people only think you've had a good night/ day if you've caught loads, I can honestly say I enjoy every night or day out, there's lots of different reasons for nights or days to be memorable and it's not just numbers... This isn't aimed at anyone either it's just my view on it, lads coming into this now seem to be a bit over worried about numbers, catch rates etc.... You've got to enj
  8. Brilliant mate, it's seems its getting rarer to find people who put the time and effort in that's required... First signs of problems get rid and bring in another would appear to be the way... Not only did you have the patience you also had the initiative to find the right training to get the required results for you.. Really well done.. The lad I hunt with has brought his pup on this year the sire was full saluki and he has tested his patience to the max, but the results are starting to come now for him.. He puts hell of a lot of time in and his pup is turning into an all round decent pot
  9. Well one Millet, sound like a good start for her, short trips a few rabbits and keep her keen... Numbers aren't everything anyway, a lot of people seem to forget getting out and enjoying working your dogs is the most important bit everything else is a bonus... Personally ( for what it's worth) I think she's a fine looking dog and an honest post... Nice one mate
  10. I don't think that would go down well with farmers, landowners etc trying to control the numbers.... Rabbits will come back naturally if your not too greedy on your land, some places it doesn't matter how many you take, they come back hard the next year...
  11. Pm's are meant to be private aren't they?? Bad do using them against people in my book... And if people are feeding ammo through pm's to fuel this thread ( whatever it's about) that's shit too... Don't know who the mystery man is and don't care really, just think it's a bit sad all the sly digs etc.... Kennel blindness???? Who cares, enjoy your dogs, feed them, walk them, run them, they've all got foibles they're dogs.... There's better dogs and better dogmen that's life....
  12. I for one hope it is the return of Whin..... Is it????
  13. Cracking pics mate, another hunter coming through the ranks that's what it's all about... The dogs look in great shape too... Atb Kev
  14. Very good post Malt.... I'm afraid it is an un-winnable war, with oil being the sole agenda.... The west needs a foothold in these country's to keep the wheels of life moving, the sacrifice is our lads...friends, husbands, sons, brothers.... Maybe we do follow America, but we have our own agenda too... I can't ever see there being any resolution to the position we now find ourselves in...
  15. I hope not , I got a pair 6 mths ago and ain't wore them yet !you'll have no bother with them if you keep that up frank.MEINDL all the way guys Got to agree mate, just finishing the 3rd season with my meindl boots, they'll be good for another at least..... Warm, dry and durable top boots I reckon.....
  16. Good luck to Wales, it's pissing down over there
  17. I've never seen any of the mods....... But that's exactly how I imagine a mod team group line up would look lol....
  18. Congratulations mate.... He's a lovely looking little lad... All the very best to you all..
  19. What about the tracing paper you had a bog roll, go to wipe and it slips right up your back lol Taking a bollocking once off the head, me and the biggest kid in the School ( he was huge tall and fat), the heads ranting at us both, going mental..... Next I hear a little sniff.. I turn round look at the big kid he's crying and got a huge green snot bubble, blowing in and out like a frogs throat out of his nose.... Dirty b*****d lol
  20. Moved around a bit as a kid ( dis functional family I guess lol), I remember my little brother wearing football boots everyday for a while, he was helping the milkman and he drove his float over my brothers foot... He had tyre marks in the top of his foot lol.... Came back from our stint in Bristol and I started at a comp school, I knew no one and hated it, got stick off a fat kid, who thought he was Cool as... Took it for a few weeks, it got to me a bit... I ended up giving him a good dig in the guts in a walk in cupboard, he wasn't all that and was on his knees... I gained a couple of mates
  21. Seen them a few times out of Exmouth and out of Brixham, First time we were in a little punt feathering for mackerel, the boat was tiny me and my brother sat at water level and a fin came out of the water, then another... It was a relief to see dolphins... One of the best sights I've seen, was a huge basking shark which came right in against the cliffs when I was fishing a rock mark.... I was perfectly positioned above it, lovely sight... That was directly below the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno in Cornwall...
  22. Still decent enough numbers round here to make it worth while, With the ferreting as the season starts to end I lay less nets and bolt more to the dogs, your bound to miss a few but that's not a bad thing if they're carrying... Most does are carrying now... Short trips with the ferrets and a few nets, and shorter nights lamping.... Had 5 last night from a walk of about 1 and a half hours... The dog was well run, I enjoyed it, that's good enough..... A little stock preservation ain't a bad thing lads...
  23. Thanks for the replies lads Bloody hell Bill, sorry to hear that... Hope Zac makes a speedy recovery..
  24. Cheers mate, it was a nice little walk... Should've had a few more though, a few fields were lifting..... Not worried though just nice to be out...
