  1. There's still some good lads about, glad you had a good day..... Nice one fuzzy lol
  2. Like they woulda gave a flying f**k for the law???? Don't reckon they would've mate. Your right there mate, he was never allowed to poach those salmon, just below some of the best beats on the Exe but it never stopped them... Same as the hares.... I don't think he had any permission, he just went QUIETLY where he pleased... Perhaps if a few of the lads would be a bit more quiet it wouldn't be so hot now for some lads... Get on the land and off again without anyone knowing you've been, smashing down gates and cutting fences is a bit if a giveaway....
  3. Sorry to hear about your friend mate, they leave a void that's hard to fill... I love the old stories
  4. Thought I'd put it up in the lurcher section as well, he was a good old lurcher man was Ivor.. Recently one of the old boys round here sadly passed away, Ivor was your text book poacher, weather it was rabbit, hare or salmon.... When I was a kid he had a lurcher called Lady, she was talked about as a good dog ( I was too young to know for myself) but it was because of Lady, that my early forays into hunting began.. Dave who was as close to me as my own father ( and who has also sadly gone) started out being taken by Ivor to watch Lady, they would Lamp hares and rabbits, the hares were

Dave wanted a dog

Haha, I fancy pint as well.... I'll finish cutting the tree in the garden down to take my mind off it.... I know what you mean gnash, and basically agree but it's not the taste of the beer, I enjoy the Craic you have after a couple of pints in good company..... I've a mate who doesn't drink at all he's an ex pro boxer and runs a gym in North Devon, so keeps himself fit.... He had a few ciders one night when we were working away, fck he was a mess, just didn't agree at all probably 3 of 4 pints and he was ruined ( I had to take him home)... He would come out and drink orange juice from then
  7. Nah that don't sound pretentious SNOB..... Lol

That's the Craic stig, I loved the social side of football..... Played western league for a few years and it was brilliant... One of the lads worked for a brewery he'd bring piles of beer on the coach in cool boxes, we'd have a couple in the away club house then it was beer and 3 card brag on the way back to ours. For a load more lol... I miss those days a bit to be honest, but it's not the same anymore.... Happy days.. i managed the youngest registered senior side playing in any none league division in the country ... we won promotion 5 seasons running 3 county cups and 3 league cups --all t

It's not so much the drink for me lads, it's the social side... I enjoy the crack in the pub, but hate being sober amongst drunks.... I wouldn't sit at home and drink, it's just not for me..... Nice one to all the lads who've give up completely, I think I'll go another few weeks at least lol

  19. My eldest girl was the same Scott, bloody nightmare at dinner time..... It's took a while but there ain't much she don't eat now, she's not a fan of rabbit or shell fish. When she was little dinner time was a chore, I'd spend half the time coaxing her to eat stuff.... Funnily enough the only veg she would eat then was peas and carrots. The 2 little ones will eat and try anything........ Apart from some of the stupid sandwhich concoctions on this thread lol
  20. bubble and squeak soup! Must be tried, as well as cauliflower cheese soup.Lay down a standard veg soup base as usual then add the roasty veg or cauli cheese and blitz - unusually good! Cheers mate My mums always making soups, everything gets blitzed lol,.... There's no waste with her, veg is bubble, a stew gets blitzed and is soup, left over meat gets put in a pie..... I can see her and my dad screwing there face up if I scrape the scraps in the bin, they've probably already planned tomorrow nights tea with it lol
  21. Haha Gammon steak and pineapple go together like Big Mac and chips...... So you don't eat, steak, pork chops, gammon, most vegetables, any sauces apart from fruity lol, liver........ Come on Scot what's your real age lol....
  22. My mate makes venison and rabbit liver pate both very nice, Fresh rabbit liver and kidney is very nice with thick cut toast and butter plus onions and garlic...... I also love bubble and squeak with my fry up, but I'm from down south I suppose lol
  23. Are half the people on here pregnant or something lol.... Scot you sound fussier than one of my kids lol, put some decent food I front of them and get moaned at... Put the crap from macdonalds I front of them and its gone in minutes...
  24. The wife's in hospital, so just had our 2 hour visiting time romantic meal , a shared chicken sandwich lol, and watched top gear and you've been framed, before I had to go..... Not the most romantic valentines, but next years should be better...
