Stand By Me Was Quality , I think it had a little bit off all our growing up in it , River Phoenix played a good part .Great film. The scene with the leeches did make me laugh though ! I think what ever form of fishing your into as you progress as an angler you make it harder for yourself, we all lovely catching fish but when they commit suicide it gets a boring... This goes for trout, carp, mackerel whatever really... After 30 years of fishing I've now got a 7 year old lad who wants to catch fish so it's back to square 1 ( nearly), we used to bash the little perch on the canal as kids, it didn't seem to matter what size hook or line just dangle a worm infont of them and they'd give there selves up....great times

Cheers Lara, your right the weather has gone mad again it was bloody cold up the moors today. Socks I've always been a football man really, but the last couple of years I've had some great days up the Cheifs, one of my good mates is a big sponsor up there ( Saxton Scaffolding) you'll see his sign behind the posts, we share a premise for work. I think this is where sometimes we can be very hypocritical when it suits us......im the first to say to someone " if you dont like it f**k off ".......but theres hundreds of different tv channels these days all we have to do is turn it over if we dont like these characters...........I was at the birthday do of a friend of a friend type of thing in a well known London club years ago......Im not really a clubby sort of person at the best of times and Boy George was there really acting up.....i just couldnt stand it i felt so uncomfortable i got up and walked out rather than make a scene ......i

I think its perfectly understandable to think you had gone wrong somewhere down the line.....my pal is always saying he should of done more " butch " things with him as a kid taken him to sport mucked about with cars etc..............i often say to him your ten times the parent i ever was at least you was there by his side all his life.............and i agree,no matter how you try to " butch " up a kid you cant put in what nature left out...............dont mean to say we have to like it,but we DO have to accept it. My kids are grown up, but when they were younger I let them judge for them selves, never brain wash them, never checked there phones,I had trust in my kids, and all grown up done well, and all have open minds, did you think that TOM & JERRY WERE TO VIOLENT FOR YOUR KIDS I don't think there's any comparison between Tom and Jerry and the dangers of the Internet for children... No I agree mate it doesn't, but everything is ramped up as far as sex is concerned now, teenage lads watching any porn they can because its so accessible on their phones etc is not healthy in my opinion... I think it can shape their views on sex at a very early age... I would hazard a guess most people on here of my age and older first views of sex were in those dirty mags you'd seemed to find stashed everywhere years ago.... I think the point of the media sexualising just about everything now is having a huge affect on our kids, my eldest girl is 14, she has an I phone and my wife checks it regularly( for her safety), she's honest with us ( to a degree lol) and most of the boys at her age access hard core porn everyday on there phones, I pods etc... It's a different world, kids expectation of sex now are entirely different to when we would find a smutty mag and take it to the den lol...
